Hi, all! I know I will get a stern lecture or even flamed for this, but I like to crush my pills and inject them Intramuscularly. I know this can cause an infected abscess, but it has not yet. (I am knocking on wood.)

First of all, am I the only one who does this on a regular basis? I do it exclusively. And I shoot probably 2 or 3 times a day every day.

I like it better for the following reasons:

1. I could NEVER find a vein. I would spend 30 or 45 minutes trying to find one and then end up missing anyway.

2. This was causing weird looks as I spent too much time in the bathroom (I live with family that don't know what I do.)

3. Also, The track marks were terrible, and I would have to wear long sleaves even in warm weather.

4. I love being able to shoot IM, and then have a few minutes to clean up the mess and put away all the stuff and then go and get comfortable and wait for the feeling to set in.

NEXT
Here is my process. Maybe you experienced members can look at it and tell me if my method is conducive to harm reduction, or if I'm STILL going to probably get an abscess. Thanks.

1. I crush enough pills to last 10 doses in a small glass bowl with a ceramic pestle. Both the bowl and pestle have been boiled in water right before I begin this process.
2. After pills are crushed, I use a clean sterile 15 or 20 cc syringe and large gauge leur-lock needle to add 11 cc's sterile bacteriostatic water (I wipe the top of the vile with an alcohol wipe first) to the glass bowl. I dispose of the needle and the syringe.

3. I let the pills completely dissolve for about 10 minutes.

4. I then use a new sterile syringe and needle along with micron filter to filter the solution. As I am filtering it, I squirt it into a sterile glass vial with aluminum and rubber seal. Just like the kind you would find morphine in. So then I have a vile of sterile, particle free solution that lasts me 10 doses.

Does that sound to anyone like it will keep the abscesses away?

Any thoughts? If your thoughts are "stop IMing" You can tell me that too, but please be nice!! Thanks.

if you really do this, then it's the best possible way to avoid an abscess, but shooting pills into your muscle is just asking for trouble.

I don't know how small the particles of microcrystalline cellulose are, but that's the main stuff you need to be worried about in pills as far as I know. but if your micron filter gets them out then you should be as safe as is possible when doing what you're doing.

Yeah, I can't stress how bad of an idea it is to IM pills but you will do it anyway.

on this topic, i have never IM'd pills but i have coupled dilaudid with other opiates in one shot (IV). I have done a k4 with .1 of heroin and oxy+2 k4s many times.

Everytime the dilaudid will hit first (which is good because i love the rush) i add the other chemicals simply to make the high longer. i used the dilaudid for the "sprint" and heroin or oxy for the "mile" or "legs" of the high. its acctually not a bad deal if you have the money to support it.

I also combine multiple substances into a combo shot as you do memphis.
For the same reason's rush + legs.

To the OP, you don't have complications from your IM usage?
I'm honestly curious.
I've IV'd maybe 10-20 times in the past before about a week or 2 ago when I went on an IV binge.
About 4-6 shots a day.
I was IV'ing Oxycodone, Dilaudid, Heroin, etc.

After the first 5 days with little to no complications besides a miss on my left arm where I believe the needle went through the vein.
I believe it was a sterile miss though as I've had minor pain & no swelling or redness 3 days past.
Since the 5th day I've acquired micron filters, etc & done only micron filter'd shots.
Following a miss on my right arm I've taken a 2 day break so far from IV.
There was minor swelling & no redness from my micron filter'd miss.
It was 120 mg of Oxycodone from Roxi's, split into 2 shots as I'm having a hell of a time getting micron filtered shots into less than 1ml.
The first shot was a miss but I did the second one anyways.

All these shots were a friend hitting me as without the micron's I was not willing to start practicing hitting myself.
Now that I have micron's I will practice at some point but I digress.

The reason I mention all this is that even with minimal missing & sterile supplies etc, I find myself having strange arm pains & other odd sensations.
I blamed some of it on the misses.

So sorry for the long story, but it is a reference point.
I'm very curious on whether you have strange pains & the like.
As seeing as I'm using micron's & similar processes with the same substance
I don't see why I would have the problems I'm having & you who are IM'ing aren't having problems.

I figured shots that are as sterile as possible + rotating, etc. would prevent problems.
However, as I stated I have some strange pains & sensations.
It's very possible that these are just in my head though.
As I can have very strong physical reactions based off mental processes.
So I think it's possible my mind is making up these pains/sensations in an effort to stop me from IV'ing.

As such I'd like your input on any pains/sensations etc. from IM as it seems very curious to me that you wouldn't have any problems from IM'ing.
Especially since using a similar setup I do get pains/sensations from IV &/or any misses.
I had never even considered & likely won't consider IM as if I'm experiencing so many issues with IV, IM isn't likely to help things.
Though I'm curious as to your response as perhaps I'm wrong on this as you didn't mention any complications.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to your response & I wish you the best of health.

Hopefully you continue to avoid any health complications arising from IM usage.
As to my understanding IM is considerably more fraught with danger/complications.

The only other thought I might mention is if you don't cover your solution while the pills are dissolving you may wish to do so.
Even though your micron filtering, covering the solution while it dissolves would help prevent dust & other airborne particles from getting in it.
Just a thought. :)
You may already do this but since it wasn't mentioned I figured I'd mention it.

On the same note, would you mind elaborating on your 4th step.
Do you draw up the solution through a cotton then micron filter?
Do you backload the syringe then micron filter?
Basically if you wouldn't mind I'd like an elaboration so as to compare it to my methods.
Thanks in advance for any information you may disclose.

Perhaps others will chime in with more useful information for the both of us.

this post really freaks me out. you have no idea how much trouble you are going to get into doing this. i took a chance with an IM shot almost a year ago and ended up with a deep tissue infection. had to have surgery to remove about 3lbs of flesh from my thigh, spent a month in the hospital and had several complications. could have ended with my leg being amputated. i have a 10 inch by 3 inch scar now as a reminder. stop while youre ahead. you're afraid of having whoever catch on cuz ur in the bathroom so long, think of how hard a time youll have hiding it when you get an infection and have to get iv antibiotics every day at the hospital.

Use a micron filter, or stop IMing.

You still want to go to the Inactive Ingredients A to Z thread, and examine the statistics of inactive ingredients in your tablets.

I have a four inch scar, I can't imagine having a 10x3 inch scar! 8o

I'm glad to hear you're still alive.

You may want to try this: SWIM uses a 1 cc 1/2" needle as his workable syringe once solution is filtered and cleared. Take this and inject between the neck and shoulder along the upper ridge of your body between those two places. SWIM normally aims just inside the collar bone area. It was a key position for medics to inject syrettes during WWII and since the muscle is just under the surface, you can get it in with a thinner needle which = less marks

Just be careful to rotate spots at least 1" from the previous. usually you will be fine, SWIM's done this 1000's of times with no abcess, but in the leg theres been infections. Part has to do with so many lymphnodes in the area around the neck which is a filter for disease.

It can never hurt to keep some anti-biotics around. SWIM ordered some from a vet supply company and they were labeled aquarium use only, but when SWIM looked at the tabs/caps, they were the same as the once i get from the drugstore for me!

Do not use SWIM here its pointless and brings more attention to yourself than not using it

did you guys not notice that he said he DOES USE a micron filter. he stated in the OP that he uses new sterile equipment and pushes it through a micron filter.

what more can he do? i was under the impression that IMing was relatively safe when using micron filters. am i wrong? because i finally went ahead and ordered micron filtering supplies and was planning on IMing for longer lasting pain relief from time to time...
