Opioids Dilaudid/Suboxone/Kratom

I’ve been on hydromorphone (Dilaudid) for 2.5 years and still counting but only on 3 mg a day now. The drs want to put me on Suboxone to combat pain AND to get me off of the Dilaudid. I’ve heard peoples experiences with getting off of Suboxone have been terrible. I don’t want to switch one addiction for another. Any feedback about Suboxone pls? Has anyone used Kratom to titrate off of heavy hitters like Dilaudid? If so, can you pls tell me which strains specifically and how many mg/day?

I'll be the first to tell you, suboxone is terrible for pain. It doesn't have much of a pain relieving affect, and it can only treat certain pain.. not all pain. I would never recommend suboxone, if your goal is to get some actual pain relief.

If your goal is to just get off dilaudid, then yeah suboxone will work great. Can't really speak on how difficult it is to get off suboxone, as I haven't made any efforts to get off since starting it.

I have heard many say that you're trading one addiction for another one by getting on Suboxone, but in my opinion it's completely different. Yes, when on suboxone you will need to take it daily or feel sick.. but the w/d from suboxone and the w/d from opiates or opiods are different. I found opiate w/d to be worse. With suboxone, I have a script and take it daily just the same as my other medications. When I was on opiates, I would take them whenever I could get my hands on them, and would have urges to take more if the funds were right. I don't have any urges to take more then my daily dosage with suboxone. I don't feel high or faded in the least bit when on suboxone. Suboxone has taken away my cravings for using opiates/opioids. Getting on Suboxone was one of the smartest decisions I've ever made, and I have zero regrets about trading my opiate and opioid addiction, for my now daily suboxone use.
