Opioids Dilaudid for wisdom teeth ?

Greetings from a country where getting codeine/tramadol after wisdom teeth removal is actually a very good achievement. 8)

Can't believe you guys are getting hydrocodone/oxycodone for something like that. I think US is actually quite a liberal country when it comes to pain management.

Yeah, same here. Here you are lucky if you get a few 500mg APAP/30mg codeine tablets and maybe two 2mg lorazepam.

I wouldn't count on anything other than some percs if you live in Jersey. This state has really been afraid to fill any type of pain med the last six months. Let us know how you made out.

2-3 months ago I had a wisdom tooth removed that was lodged up in my sinuses and got 20 vicodin ES, I never needed a single one. Believe it or not 3 ibuprofen every 6 hours plus a Tylenol every now and then was enough to keep the pain away. Good luck.

Honestly...in someone whos an opiate tolerant perosn...there pain snse is all fucked up so ya they need meds. But like the man above me said just pull your skirt down and take some ibuprofen. Itas REALLY not so bad. I did it with only my suboxone (.5mg a day)...no increase. After my dr wrote me off as a junkie lol. And I feel ya pain. NY, NJ, FL is like the war on pill frontlines.

I know. I fucked up lol.

Hey! I started my own club for that.
Want in?

The first rule of the "I fucked up" club?
There is no "I fucked up" club.

oh crap..I think I just fucked up the first rule.....:\

Nice cover... just a simple girl? Yeah, like everyone is going to believe that 8)

What can we say about Bluelighters? Well, Bluelighters are social deviants, true menaces to society, not to be trusted by anyone other than similarly crazed drug addicts. I get queasy just thinking about Bluelighters... I am certainly not one myself 8(

Although they do have some pretty badass knowledge in psychopharmacology and drug interactions, sometimes better than doctors and pharmacists ;)

Mr. Mergic: I must object to your objection of my simplicity! ;)

And simply put...(depending on who you've been talking to)..I may or may not fit into
one or two of those blue people categories....

Great news for me..but maybe not so good for you..

What you're prescribed depends on several factors:

1) How compassionate your doctor is.

2) Your current level of opioid dependency

3) Any other medications you're taking

4) The severity, or how invasive the surgery is.

5) How long it takes the patient to recover from surgery.

6) Your pain levels out of ten.

7) How your body tolerates the first line of analgesic treatment, side effects, etc.

That was me. lol. But it all fairness I take 2mg a day normally. So Id need 4 to feel normal in a paniced state. I HATE dentists.. I THOUGHT it was more reasonable than them shooting me up with ketamine and or dilaiudid while im on oxys...but apprently they thought I was a DRUGIE

I don't care what they say about me either, it never was true before..I highly doubt the truth would
start now...

Feels like tricomb's about to hand me a detention slip....and hides.....

You better pray your dentist is an idiot if you plan on asking for dilaudid for wisdom teeth removal. Only somebody who was seeking a strong opiate would specifically request dilaudid for such a procedure. I could understand something different (low-dose opana, etc) especially if it was something with a time-release, but otherwise you're asking for trouble. Nothing screams "drug seeker" like asking for straight dilaudid, and I assume you're pretty young if you're getting this procedure as well

Wait, you could "understand" asking for Opana, but not asking for Dilaudid? Am I missing something here? But either way, I doubt either of those would be prescribed. I just don't understand the whole "opana would be cool to ask for, BUT NOT DILLIES!" Oh well.

It's not exactly Xanax, but when my brother got some simple dental work done, his dentist gave him something like 20MG Valium to take before coming into the office for his procedure. So I don't see how asking for a benzo would be completely out of line, you know?

-- My girl is getting ready to get a couple of her teeth taken out, and they already wrote her scripts. Vicodin & Amoxicillan [sp]. So we'll see how that goes, lol.

Maybe they don't like being asked for it. Medical professionals generally seem to prefer that you tell them your symptoms and they suggest the treatment. Like in this case it would be better to explain that one has severe anxiety and an extreme fear of dental work, as opposed to saying "Hey, can I have 4mg of Xanax?" A lot of dentists have been warned about people "drug-seeking".

Ya.

I think if you know alot about drugs theres a reason. PLus its probably a ego thing "IM THE DR!" lol.

Noo they would NOT prescribe you that for wisdom teeth, the most your gunna get for that is some lortabs. sorry man.

I got perc 5's. 30 of em. When you have no tolerance, 30 perc 5's is like waltzing into heaven. Perhaps I just had a cool doc (I did), most people I know only ever got Vicodin, if that.

Oh and, OP: Asking your doctor for ANY narcotic will ensure you have to deal with the potential pain (I had a dry socket...fuck me) with nothing but ibuprofen. Trust me. Play it cool and you'll get something. What depends on how lenient your doc is, but it is certainly reasonable to have percocet prescribed as the pain can be quite severe (was for me, damn).
