Opioids Dilaudid endless withdrawals

I was using Dilaudid 8/16mg oral and IV daily or nearly daily for around 2 weeks with oxycodone use aswell, then a week off, which had consistent withdrawals throughout, then a week back on with some morphine er use, up to 600mg in a day, but not chronically. Now it's been 2 and 1/2 weeks and the withdrawal has barely slowed down much at all, it's rough to try and hold down a job when I'm dopesick like this. I tried kratom but it didn't help, just made my intestinal pain worse. Rn I'm struggling the most with hypersensitivity to pain, and constant bowel pain.
I and my family want me to quit dope for good, but the withdrawals in the first week were so bad I caved and bought a sleu of opioids I couldn't really afford, and I know I won't be able to resist using them once I have them. Should I expect even more extended withdrawl once I'm out, is there a way I can taper? I plan to not use anything intravenously this time.

Isn't there a Methadone clinic you can go to.....even a family doc

Bring in your illicit opioids even and tell them you want to be clean.....low dose Methadone, decreased every 3 to 5 days until you're on 0.5mg morning and night then nothing.

Clonidine 0.1mg
Pregabalin 150mg / Gabapentin 300mg
Diazepam 2mg or 5mg in morning and before bed

Methadone 10-20mg with gradually reducing every 3 days of so

Where I live, I can maybe get Suboxone but not methadone, and more than likely (because I have experienced this) I will get pressured to detox in a facility, doctors in my part of Canada reacted to the opioid epidemic by seriously restricting access to opioids, I've literally never got opioids from a hospital even for injuries, they have even given my friend heavily tranquilizing antipsychotics when she was in the ER for a gastrointestinal emergency. It's almost out of the question to ask a doc for opioids especially with the promotion of rapid detox therapy in my area.
Anyways, I bought 5 more 8mg Dilaudid, and I'm resisting the urge to buy heroin off the streets, but it's easy to talk myself out of when I'm so god damn broke.

Have your family doctor refer you to CPM Centre's for Pain Management (if this applies) as oral Metadol 2/5/10/25mg scored Methadone tablets are frequently prescribed for chronic pain/opioid rotation/analgesic therapy

You can tell your doctor or whom ever Methadone has a lower abuse potential and is a long acting analgesic, and you requested a very low dose (Metadol 5mg tablets) X 2 daily with weekly reductions until safety & successfully weaned off opioid analgesic medications as is your goal.

You can bring in a Dilaudid 8mg tablet and give them it showing you're serious about safely getting off all opioid narcotics but request a safe low therapeutic dose of a long acting Metadol 5mg tablets to properly wean off, as you work and need to function throughout the work week so this doesn't interfere with your career/employment

There has to be something in your area who will help you. If your doc isn't comfortable they can refer you to a specialist or a physician experienced in prescribing low dose Methadone to safety wean an Opioid tolerant patient off their meds.

Call around... can't be that difficult .Goodluck

Oh, and those oral Dilaudid 8mg tablets....get an oral syringe from Shoppers or pharmacy and rectal admin it for 60-70% bioavailability (v.s. 30% oral wasting it)

Pulverize tablet into fine powder, dissolve slightly warm water, draw up in 1ml oral syringe 0.5ml clean warm water......lay on side of bed and insert 3/4 length of pinky finger, hand cream or whatever on oral syringe, and push fluid in....lay there for several min with syringe still in....you'll feel the warm feeling of Hydromorphone onset.....remove oral syringe and place tissue there, pants up and relax & enjoy

Hope you make it through my friend! How long is oxy withdrawal? I have never gotten a straight answer. I am 7 days into the withdrawals starting in 4 hours. I cant remember my last hydrocodone withdrawal taking longer than 6-7 days. This sequence has just been so tough. Let me know if any of guys have ever gone through Oxy WDs and know how long it usually takes, because this is nearly unmanageable. Thanks.

I was badly addicted to dilaudid as well so you have my sympathy. I was at one point shooting 3 18mg hydromorph contins at time. Dilly s the crack of opiates.

Can you get any morphne? Time realse morphine is great fo tapering imo. Even shooting up morphine is better then dilaudid as it lasts much longer.

At a time? That is insane. The most I ever shot at a time was 20 mgs and I still remember that rush it was so intense I never did that much again.

I am pretty sure thats off by a good bit. If i took half a gram of morphine i would be dead as a doornail. Half a gram orally would kill me never mind IV. The most morphine i ever had in one shot is only 60mg's as thats the most morphine sulphate that can be put into a 1cc syringe. Anyway 60mg's always fixed me up no matter how much dilly i was banging. The most morphine i have ever taken orally is only maybe 180mg's at my worst. That always fixed me up no matter f i was coming off dilly or fent even

The thought of taking half a gram of morphine makes me itch so bad lol. Also you wouldnt shit for 2 weeks after that lol

They only convert analgesic activity, not dependence liability.

But to me that sounds like a huge amount of opioids.

I've known a couple of people who used a gram of H per day so I guess it's about the same (H is twice as potent as M but street H is only about 50% pure). But some died, some got onto methadone programs.

In the UK we wouldn't even try buprenorphine if someone has such a big habit. Juice down to 30mg and only then buprenorphine.

Shocked that Canada of all places don't realize that buprenorphine just doesn't work for some people...

But something has to change.

So small and discreet, 10ml glass vial in front pocket nobody would notice. My depo-Testosterone comes in a mini 10ml glass vial and it’s soooo small. Just imagining an entire gram of pure pharmaceutical Hydromorphone for injection

I am not familiar with hydromorp as I was only prescribed it for a very short time, but it was a very extended release formulation, 24 hours. It didn't work for me.
But when I read about those north american superdaddicts, people with abominable tolerances from fentanyl and family, I think of hydro and how you can dissolve 333mg in a 1ml insuline syringe, so with a 3 ml one you could inyect a whole gram of hydro. I wonder if that couldn't be enough for these fent addicts. Maybe even using also methadone to hold them better and longer?
I kind of refuse to think that that kind of addiction and levels of tolerance could even exist, it scares me, honestly

In the UK, the SDAP is something different, or at least that is my understanding of it. It's entitled "UK Early Access Programs: EAMS and ‘Specials’" but that's for medicines still undergoing trials, orphan drugs or in rare cases, where a medicines has show effacacy in a small proportion of patients for a given indication but it's use doesn't include that indication because of it's extreme limitated utility to most patients.

Above are the provisions for prescribing opioids to patients who are opioid dependent. Just look at how complex it all is.

I did Google and found nothing. But nobody is perfect and if you have a UK reference, I would be very pleased to read it as our system is awful.

You can technically get that yes in Canada. You can technically get methadone for pain to in Canada but i have never found a doctor willin to do that. I have gotten fentanyl for pain yes but not methadone. Doctors in Canada have to be able to justify what they prescribe and in most of Canada heroin is not yet something most docs are willing to prescribe

If you have legitimate medical conditions causing chronic pain, like myself RA ….you can easily get Metadol / Methadone oral tablets for pain

Oxy-IR 5mg & OxyContin 10mg starting
Dilaudid 2mg IR & Hydromorph-Contin 9mg XR capsules after a while (opioid rotation)

Short acting potent opioids are great for short term moderate to severe pain. With long term chronic pain I’d rather have a long acting 8-10h analgesic properties with a longer 24h half life with high oral bioavailability 80% approx

I was at a Methadone clinic for a bit 80mg daily, 6 stupid carries a week….pure bullshit.

Went to family doc after stable on Methadone for few years. I now get a 100 tablet sealed bottle of Metadol 25mg (120 tablets per 30 days) 100mg Methadone daily approximately. In addition to a dopaminergic stimulant to enhance the analgesic properties of the opioid, reduce any sedation or mental fog, and increased vigilance, drive, focus, antidepressant feel good energy

Ritalin (Methylphenidate) 50-70mg IR daily combined with Methadone 100mg ….an absolutely amazing combination
