Dilaudid - duration of effects after insufflation

if you got dilaudid try giving plugging a try. you'll get a lot more out of your pills, despite what the mega bioavailability thread says about the percentages of insufflation vs. rectal administration.
 
Yes, probably 1 or 2 hours. Insufflation is definitely the way to go (assuming you have no desire to plug/IV). However, I find myself not being able to stay awake long enough to see how long the high really lasts (8 mg really kicks my ass).

I agree with this. 60-120 minutes is the usual with the first 60-90 minutes being the more euphoric. The total duration of effects is 2-4 hours, depending... Hydromorphone is one of the more short-acting (and therefore addictive) opiates around, tread carefully. :)

Insufflating hydromorphone lasts 2-4 hours for you?? Damn, I only wish, taking it orally may last that long (for me) but snorting it lasts maybe 60-90 minutes.
 
Based on my 3 recent experiences and comparing it to the oral administration I am used to, I would say the mild euphoric response is an hour or two. However, for my pain management purposes, it lasts longer.

Orally, my 4mg HM for all intents and purposes only lasts about 3 good hours. Insufflated, I feel pain free well past the four hour mark.

That's odd because pills are designed to last longer orally. I can't think of any drug I've ever taken that's lasted longer insufflated.

yes, but the percentage that is absorbed for oral administration of hydromorphone is very low compared to snorting, so someone who might not have much of a tolerance might be able to achieve longer pain relief due to the increased bioavailability that is observed when insufflated vs. oral administration.

Thats exactly what must have happened! That was only third time ive done it and first time in at least 6 months so it was VERY euphoric for me. I was feeling pretty damn good (even though it wound up being a 4mg nbd).
