Dihydroheroin vs. Heroin

For those of you who have had the chance to try both of these drugs, is dihydroheroin the same as heroin except more potent? By how much?

Actually, heroin is more potent if you're talking ED50's - heroin is just over 4x's more potent than DHH. DHH is equipotent to morphine when given both systemically and supraspinally.

anyways theres so many things wrong with that one line statement i dont know where to start.......no oc' is not cheaper and in fact cost is the major advantage of heroin, aside from the whole wax and binder issue with oc's.....in five years you will either have wised up and dropped the oc habit, or you will be buying smack cuz its cheaper....dollars to dea donuts.

I prefer the heroin high to oxy actually. Oxy just doesn't have that great euphoria that heroin has, in my opinion.

As for DHH never had the pleasure, sorry.

Heroin iv is way better than any MOA of Oxycodone...... but the withdrawls and b.s. you go through using daily is horrible.

Dihydrocodeine is stronger tha codeine, dihydromorphine is stronger than morphine. Why would you think 3,6 diacetyl-dihydromorphine is 1/4 the potency of plain diacetyl morphine? It's not, it's 20% stronger and lasts 6 hours rather than 4...

That is a pretty ignorant statement. "Better" is a subjective term. What is good for you might not be good for someone else. Also, calling heroin users "junkies" as a derogatory term annoys the hell out of me. You admit to doing oxycodone, yet you think you are somehow better than the people who prefer diacetylmorphine? Heroin is just another semi-synthetic opioid. All the shit you heard about it being evil or worse for you than any other common pharmaceutical opiate is bullshit.

While I'm on the happy heroin bandwagon myself, he said 'heroin junkies' rather than 'junkies ' - implying he was referring specifically to junkies who use heroin, not saying only heroin users are junkies, or at least that's the impression I got on reading.

Although there wasn't anything in his post, admittedly, that didn't also imply he was an idiot. So maybe he was trying to imply being an oxy addict is somehow removed from the heroin stigma.

I am interested in your thinking here...

I do know and understand that DHC is stronger than codeine, and also dihydromorphine being stronger than morphine.

Do you have a source with a chart or documentation stating that 3,6 diacetyl-dihydromorphine is in fact 1/4 the potency or 25% (1/4 = 25% not 20% ) stronger than dia(cetyl)morphine?

This may help clear up some confusion amongst folks...

And on a side note:

I have been on and off the heroin wagon 3 times, and finally kicked for 2 months now... I understand the pain and misery you go through because of a beautiful yet ugly drug... and I miss it every day less and less...

Wow, the potency information is somewhere here but I'm not trawling it. I'm a chemist so I know WHY it's 25% stronger. I could go into an SAR discussion but that would piss some people off mightly so look here for a full discussion.
