So I've been on Codeine Phosphate for about four months. It's not helped with pain and I used to take buckets of Tramadol Hydrochloride, I have been prescribed Dihydrocodeine. I've read a bit that it's a much nicer codeine and had better pain coverage and a nicer warmth to it. But in comparison to Tramadol what am I looking at pain relief wise?

Thanks in advance. ♡

I find DHC a better analgesic with less abuse potential. We used to switch people <20mg methadone onto DHC and it worked well. Now we don't, and recovery rates have gone down :-(

I cannot comment on the pain relief, but I found the effects of DHC much nicer than Tramadol. DHC is actually my favourite of those I tried. It's more potent than codeine for sure (50-80mg of DHC always gave me a good buzz vs almost nothing with codeine), so this should also reflect on the analgesic potential.
