dihydrocodeine to detox off heroin?

my friend is going to use dihydrocodeine to detox off heroin, what kind of dosage would be suitable and the time they should be takin for, for a 1/2 gram a day habit. would the withdrawlas be bad after taking dihydrocodeine for say 2 weeks? . dihydrocodeine is the only option due to methadone makes him sick and does not what to use subutex.
