Does anyone think it makes a difference when taking benzos sublingualy whether you crush the pills or just dissolve under the tounge?
 
Xanax does kick in a bit faster and harder when done sublingually, doesn't matter if you crush it first or not. It dissolves in the spit in less than a minute anyways. Just chew them a bit. I find it to taste pretty disgusting though. Some might disagree here, but xanax to me kicks in best when crushed and snorted! I can feel effects after about 10 minutes as opposed to the 20 mins needed for oral.
 
@ St3ve.I totally agree bro!So many people just love telling me how wrong I am.How the only reason I feel it is because it drips into my stomach.,how it's all into my head,I'M wasting it blah,blah,blah.But I've been doing this a long time and I swear xanax is WAY better sniffed.Also works great with ativan but strangely (at least for me)not with valium or klonopin.klonopin.Anyway,it's nice to hear someone agree with me for a change.Just because it's not water soluble don't mean it's not absorbed intranasally!

i think if you crush it with your teeth or break it up in little pieces it is easier for your stomach to dissolve ! so therefore it hits you quicker! and personally i hate the taste of dissolving medication! nasty taste! hope this helps!
 
^^i agree i break up my bars in pieces so it will dissolve quicker and I think that's the best method. Bars taste gross especially the yellow ones.
 
I agree,xanax will gag a maggot!But with doing it enough the taste starts to become a non-issue.Again,I still say crushing them between 2 spoons into a fine powder and sniffing makes them a lot better.The only down sides to this is it's a pain in the ass (or at least the nose ) and the duration of action is significantly shorter.For that reason I like to sniff most and still eat /sublingual a few to get the best of both worlds.Anyone else do this ?
 
Yea i usually just chew whatever benzo im takin, but imo its not something necessary to fret over, oral vs sublingual. Imo the differsnce between these two roas is minimal
 
I always just kinda sucked on them like hard candy, occasionally breaking it into smaller pieces with my teeth. I'm one of those people that kinda likes the taste though, so it probably wouldn't be desirable for someone who doesn't like it, but I swear it hits me faster that way than snorting. Although I have to say I rarely find snorting to be the preferred method. Except for cocaine and ketamine. But that's just a personal preference thing.

Okay dude,whatever.I'm not going to get into this posting war with someone else.Can't we just agree that everyone's body chemistry is different and people respond to drugs differently?
 
I've taken various benzos orally, sublingually, IM and IV. The only difference at all is speed of onset it doesn't change it into a better drug. Even with ampoules of diazepam made for IM/IV use it wasn't like a rush or anything.
 
Ive only ever tried four different benzos. Diazepam, Lorazepam, Temazepam, and Clonazepam. The diazepam I was given at the ER once. So really no experience with Valium otherwise.

As for the rest - I tried plugging all of them with various different solvents. I tried plugging all of them with just Water, Ethanol, Polyethylene Glycol, and Propylene Glycol. Plugging with water was just an enormous waste of drugs. Barely felt anything. Plugging with Ethanol was no different, it barely did anything and on top of that - it burned like a motherfucker. Plugging with polyethylene glycol did nothing as well.

The only response I really got out of plugging any benzo was when I plugged Temazepam with Propylene Glycol. The effects came on within 5 minutes... But that was it. I felt no euphoria, no rush or anything - it was just as good as taking it orally. Actually, no! It wasn't! If I had taken it orally - at least the effects would have lasted 6 hours instead of 3 with plugging.

Tried railing various benzos and it (obviously) doesn't work. Why? Because the mucus membranes in your nose only absorb water-soluble drugs. Benzodiazepines are not water soluble - so literally non of it makes it into your body.

Honestly? The best way to take a benzo is just swallowing the pill. I know it sounds lame - but any other way is just a waste.

I know someone who swears by snorting his xanax as well
But he snorts anything, I've seen him snort fucking methadone

After trying to tell em a few times I just shake my head anymore and think what a waste

I know people who swear by snorting the 325mg/5mg percocets as well and no matter how often i tell them they are not only wasting their drugs but also wrecking their nose for nothing they still don't listen. I am pretty sure it's all a mental thing sort of like junkies who swear they get a rush shooting up sterile water
