Stimulants Differences between meth & regular amphetamines?

I have some questions for those of you who have used methamphetamine before.

My younger sister told me that her and her friend met these ppl who claimed to have pure street amphetamine, and that it wasn't meth, apparently they told her they "hate meth". She can be naive and trust people WAY too easily. Either way, I am skeptical of anybody who claims to have pure street speed. :\

Anyways, her and I have both done prescription dexedrine before. She does a lot of ecstasy mainly. She's a total E-tard lol. She told me this street amphetamine was kind of like dexedrine but without the "shitty side effects" and she seemed more euphoric than someone would on regular amphetamine. Since I doubt it was levo-amphetamine, and since I doubt it was dextro if it didn't have the same side effects as dexedrine, do you think it could have actually been meth?

I'm wondering because of the fact that she said it was like dexedrine but without the shitty side effects, and I read that even though meth is a more powerful amphetamine, that because it effects the brain a little differently, it doesn't feel as physically taxing and isn't as hard on the heart as dextro-amphetamine. So that made me wonder, and I know meth is more euphoric because it effects serotonin more than dex. What is the euphoria from meth like? Is it similar in a way to MDMA?

My friend who does meth said she most likely would have known if it was meth, like since it was her first time she would have been seeing bugs and tweaked right out, is that true? If so, could she maybe have done some shitty meth? My other buddy who used to do meth told me that it's pretty rare to find regular amphetamine and that its usually always meth, because why would someone sell regular amph when they can sell meth and get more customers and money. Makes sense.

I wrote her back asking what it looked like and how they administered it. I'm guessing either by insufflation or orally in a parachute or pill. I know she wouldn't have smoked it or injected it.

What do you think? I've never done meth before, only dexedrine so I'm unsure. I just think its weird that it didnt have any shitty side effects, because usually any regular amphetamine would.

Also- I know that there are innumerable different types of amphetamine, but they all are derived firstly from either dextro or levo amphetamine, am I correct??

I only really care to respond to the fact that you see bugs on your first time, that is usually only caused from binging for multiple days, not just from regular use of the drug. Also I definitely wouldn't say the come down from meth is any better than dex...

I don't care to respond to most of this stuff as you seem to be confused about what d/l-amp are, there is d/l-methamp as well and d-amp or d-methamp are the only ones you will really see on the street, levo isn't recreational or stimulative.

I stated clearly that I DON'T know and that is why I am ASKING for people who DO to help me understand.
 
I didn't mean to come off as rude, I'm just tired and what I explained could be found using the wiki or doing a bit of reading on amphetamines. Also most of the stuff you asked would just get people's opinions (and I hate comparing drugs), we can't really accurately guess what drug your friend was on.

Gave you as much info as I could stand to, sorry.
 
Dextroamphetamine is the only one known as "amphetamine", that's the way it's established all around the world (of chemistry). And amphetamine is also known as speed. As for the derivatives, they're mostly made out of ephedrine or pseudoephedrine, for all I know, and NOT from amphetamine itself.
While it could seem rather surprising, methamphetamine is easier to cook than speed, so mayyybe someone has sold some to your sister but I kinda doubt it. My guess would be that she only got "good" stuff. The only clue would be how she felt when snorting it (if she did snort it) : I don't remember anything about having your nose stinging with speed, but it sure does with meth, even though it's not exactly painful.

It was probably Methamphetamine your sister tried. Despite the similarities, Methamp. and Amphetamine, whether racemic or not, have pretty different effects, especially to a user who has even a little experience with each. I'm sure anyone who has used either can vouch for that.

With that said, despite the unlikeliness of the unknown substance being Amphetamine, it's not impossible by any means. The fact that the providers told her "it's not Meth, we hate Meth" could support the claim that it is in fact good ole Amphetamine. It doesn't seem entirely unlikely that a group of people could have a source and prefer regular Amp. over Methamp. Hell, one of them could have synthed it themselves.

I personally don't care for Meth; the high lasts for hours at best, while the stimulation goes on and on. Amphetamine is much more recreational IMO.
 
it was probably powder meth sold as speed to people with a taboo against meth. Meth feels very similar to dexedrine except its less physically uncomfortable, lasts longer and is more euphoric. Thats why it is more addicting, you can get a lot higher without feeling like shit.
 
So many threads like this, man. Meth is essentially amphetamines on a ton of steroids,

Learn to Use The Search Function, as I'm sure you would have found your answer within 2 minutes of searching. Either here, or wikipedia.
 
meth seems way more euphoric to me, it has a lot more of an effect on serotonin, and it causes me to watch way more porn for hours on end

seeing bugs your first time is a bad stereotype. OP it was most likely meth, people lie to avoid the label of meth. Who gives a fuck, a drug is a drug- every single one has its extremes
 
I honestly did try searching wikipedia and google, etc. I was just looking for *personal experience* to see what meth users thought.

As for letting her live, I do lol. she was concerned after too and we were both just trying to figure it out. She tries to avoid things that have an addictive nature like meth because addiction does run in our family. She definitely lives her life free, believe me haha.

I found out the hard way not to tell ANYONE about the times I've done crystal meth. I had a certain important person get out of my car and walk the fuck off. I haven't heard from him or seen him since. I guess we were not as good of friends as I thought... we have done heroin together so I didn't figure he would react badly when I told him I tried some meth. WRONG. He was pissed, and I am not telling another soul about it. I am lucky in that it is clean and strong and made well by professionals so when and if I do it again, I will be able to get good product. I won't be able to get my friend back though. Meth has the worst stigma attached to it above and beyond just about anything else I can think of, besides maybe child molestation. If you are going to do meth, take a line from Queens of the Stone Age.... "Whatever you do, don't tell anyone."
 
You can certainly find the differences around here, wiki, erowid, etc.

As for asking us to try to determine what your sister got, that's just plain impossible. We can't gc/ms her stash so there's no way to determine that. What she was told and experienced are just too subjective to mean anything definitive.

If you look around here, in BDD and trip reports you'll find more experiences of all aforementioned drugs than you know what to do with.
