Difference between Vicodin and Lortab?

Hey everyone.. Can anyone tell me the difference between Vicodin and Lortab? I was doing some research and it seems like vicodin has more APAP in it, is that true?? I went to the dentist to get a root canal, and i got Vicodin ES 7.5's . Also, what does the ES stand for? Thanks.

just two different brand names. hydro is hydro.

es is extra strength, i think. you actually got scripted name brand "vicodin," not generic hydro? that seems silly.

i remember with one of my psych appointments he asked me if he usually scripted me the name brand or generic ativan. doctors are weird.

No, it says hydrocodone. It just says underneath SUB for Vicodin ES. Just didn't know what the Es stood for..
