Difference between taking a benzo orally or sublingually?

Title pretty much says it all.

I am usually swallowing most of my benzos except flunitrazepam(which i let dissolve in my mouth or put under my tongue from force of habit) and i didnt really think there was much of a difference,until i recently read an article here saying that benzos arent to be IVd,snorted OR taken SUBLINGUALLY ,only orally.I think it was an article about CWE regarding benzos.

Since sublingual administration was included as an improper ROA,i was wondering,is there any difference in bioavailability when you put a benzo under your tongue instead of swallowing it?

I'm not quite sure but I heard certain benzos can be applied sublingually for a faster impact.

Benzos most def can be taken sublingually its actually the preffered ROA for some people. and they even make some benzos for sublingual use only. ativan being one of them

I've taken it sublingually and I've chewed them and swallowed them (Like a BOSS). Specifically with klonopin, and I would have to say that the effects of both were relatively the same. If swallowing whole vs sublingual, I would say sublingual from my experience. I've also done it with ativan. Haven't done it with xanax...I attempted to chew a 1mg alprazolam while dopesick and barfed from the taste.

^^yep,Xanax is the one pill that under no circumstances will i let dissolve in my mouth,as great as it is,that much disgusting its taste is ..

But arent there any studies or researches,showing the actual bioavailability via different ROA?

If oral is say 80% and sublingual is 90% or vice versa,thats serious stuff guys.I dont want even that 10% go to waste!!!

I agree, sublingual takes maybe like 5 minutes off the come-up, but at the price of having to taste a dissolved pill for 15 minutes. Klonopin doesn't taste too bad, but xanax for example tastes like shit, and the bitterness lingers. Just eat em'. So not worth it IMO.

Dissolving/chewing in mouth - stronger high, shorter duration

Orally - more spread out high, so not as strong, and lasts longer

Yes, most benzos are going to be absorbed faster when taken sublingually.

Just don't be expecting any kind of "hit". Benzos are subtle in my opinion whether they come on fast or slow. The only benzo I have ever gotten high off of was IV Midazolam. Friends who have had serious issues with panic and anxiety disorders that I have spoken with, say that they can abort a negative episode much faster than if they were to chew and swallow the pill. This goes doubly if there's undigested food lingering in the stomach.
