Opioids Difference between Oral and IV Oxyodone

My understanding is that oxycodone has a high oral bioavailability, between 60-80%. If one were to use oxycodone intravenously for the first time, should they use a lot less than their oral tolerance, or a little less for the same kind of buzz?

Say if someone is used to 100mg oral, would this be equal to 80mg intravenous or should they use something a lot more conservative?
 
Don't be retarded and place your life in the hands of a single high. You can always shoot more.

I'd start with something south of 50mg even, more like 40mg. There's a good chance you'll want more (and actually need more), but there's no way of knowing unless you start low and work up. You can always add more, but you can't subtract.

I really want to understand a bit more about bioavailability and IV use. I'm close to someone on methadone maintenance who shoots an enormous amount of oxy, more than is worthwhile IMO, but my main question still stands.

If one has a tolerance for 100mg oral, instant release oxycodone, how much would be the estimate needed intravenously to get the same effect?
 
it is more like 80+%. There is just no reason to use IV oxycodone, I could never understand it.
I get Morphine or Dilaudid or Ocymorphone where the Oral BA is so low, and you can gain alot by shooting it, but really, you don't get much more from oxycodone. If you're looking for that rush plug it or crush and parachute, or blow it.

.... If you must use the needle, like you said, it's only a little difference, so yeah I would say 70-80% of the normal dose, keep in mind it may hit you differently. But really, please consider all the other ROA's i suggested above.
 
Shooting Oxy is a waste basically. There is a minimal rush, and unless you have a micron filter, it is NOT worth shooting pills and potentially damaging your veins and fucking up your body, for a weak rush and a high not much better than oral. Oral is your best bet - The high is near as intense as IV and the duration is about twice as long.
