Difference between freebase oil and crystal, dissolving?

Random but quick question. What I want is to be able to convert certain tryptamines to their freebase form and then dissolve them in IPA. After researching I now know how to do all that except one thing confused me in reading other's instructions. Certain guides weren't sure if certain tryptamines would come out in freebase as an oil or as a crystal. All I want to know is, oil or crystal, will it dissolve in IPA? If not, is there anything I can do to the oil to make it dissolve, or otherwise make it easier to dose? Any other solvents?

Sorry if this is an obvious question, I am not a chemist by any means, just going by the collected instructions of others to accomplish my goals. So I have no way of knowing if the freebase being an oil means it has totally different properties than the crystal like polarity and whatnot.

It doesn't matter if it is an oil or a crystal, if the freebase is soluble in a non-polar solvent it should dissolve in IPA
