Benzos Diethyl Ether

Does anyone see anything about that Amazon listing that leads them to say stay away from that stuff? Like the stabilizing compound maybe?

It's just reagent grade ether. BHT is fine to consume in traces and is something you'd want in your ether anyway (it's used in cereal packaging, for instance, and prevents formation of explosive ether peroxides)

I wouldn't buy a liter of the stuff if you were going to consume it, that's way too much. (Especially not for that kind of extortionate price.) 50-100mL per person is more than enough.

By the way you can't extract ether from starter fluid unless you wanna fractionally distill it. The 'extraction' commonly passed around that involves shaking starter fluid with water will actually wash some of the ether away (ether is slightly water soluble) and leave you with heptane/naptha.

Ether is a pretty nasty drug. If you're going to attempt it, that's probably the stuff to get, but at the same time please remember that it will leave you stinking like ether, tasting it on your breath and smelling it on your sweat, and it's also a pretty massive fire hazard. So do it in a well-ventilated area, away from sparks.

A fair amount of automotive starting fluid now has heptane or a conconction of other volatile petroleum products rather than diethyl ether. Forget it. Ive seen it (diethyl ether) on ebay too. btw, I dunno how much of what follows is bs or hype, but it is good reading nonetheless:
