So I'm interested in this idea I got a book (the four hour body, if you're interested). The diet suggested says by not eating carrots, beans, corn or tomatoes you can get down to 8% body fat.

What do you think of this? Nutrition-wise will this be much of a problem/ a problem at all?

Or.. anyone else have any thoughts on getting down to a low body fat percentage?

The diet is basically just vegetables and protein. Sort've paleo or atkins like I guess.

I should've mentioned that.

I'd be eating mostly as many vegetables as I can, healthy proteins like chicken and eggs etc, and healthy fats from oils and nuts. No legumes either (beans, peanuts, etc).

Anyway, I was just wondering, I guess generally what peoples thoughts are on taking out any specific vegetables like this idea suggests. Would I be missing out on anything that I couldn't get elsewhere by not eating carrots for example?

Not really. I wonder why no carrots though.

Of course they have those orange pigments... But you barely absorb them anyway. There are plenty of sources for nutrients. Cutting out these few won't do harm.

They really aren't that high in sugar though. Kind of baffled. I understand tomato, as it is inflammatory, which might invite retention of fluids and cause a little weight gain. Corn is starchy. Beans as well. But I've no idea really. Let us know how it goes.

Since when were tomatoes inflammatory? Inflammation doesn't cause water retention anyway... and weight gain from water retention is just, water - your body fat will be unaffected.

That sounds like pretty silly information to me, but if it works for you then go for it.

I love my carrots, corn, beans (which are high in proteins - good for replacing fat with muscle; keep in mind that if both weigh the same that fat has a higher volume) and greens. I don't eat tomatoes because i think they taste like shit. And my body weight is now not fluctuating at all, if anything i have lost weight recently....

I would recommend not eating junk food and high sugar drinks like coke though.

What are you supposed to eat instead? Cutting out healthy foods like what you listed doesn't seem like a great idea to maintain a well-balanced diet but if you wanted to do it for a couple-day detox I guess that couldn't hurt.

everything you listed is healthy, dont go out of your way to not eat them...

in fact start looking at a different book too imho, seriously who advises people to not eat vegetables

if you want low bodyfat, go swimming/running for 1 hour every day

Yea I didn't know what I was talking about.
