I rarely watch horror movies because they are either too scary and/or they are just rubbish.. i.e. cheap scare tactics, lame plot, when it ends you realise you got all wound up for nothing because the story SUCKED...etc.
The recent remake of Dawn of the Dead I found to be completely awesome though. Possibly one of my favorite movies of all time! (btw -- i've seen both the original and the remake and found the latter to be way cooler.. i know ill get flamed for this)
Scary (not too scary, i suppose), great story, great characters...who actually did the kinds of things I feel that I might try to do given the situation (instead of running up stairs when they should be running outside or something like in so many lame horror flicks). Also, I thought it was brilliant how the zombies behaved too - just as I would imagine if a human body was possessed by zombie instincts (think running as fast as possible, bashing fists/head into door, etc)
So, for those of you out there that also liked this movie, can you suggest some other good horror films I should check out? Ones that have a reasonable quality story to it and you actually dont regret seeing...?
I realise that not everyone will agree with me on this, so thats why I'm just asking the people who actually liked this movie.
Thanks!
