Did you know.....?

I do believe the reference was to this post...

for me, the last post on page 3 is a monkey :)

Did you know that orangutans are great apes not monkeys?

It's like when physicists discover parts of the universe that defy all recognised laws. When the impossible occurs.

The impossible cannot occur by definition. Would be interested to hear which parts of the Universe defy all recognised laws too if you happen to know of any.

Oh Shammy, you're nitpicking. You've done this ever since we took war upon the theo thread, once a moon ago. I'm clearly referring to impossible, by definition of our understood laws. Now stop being a nitty-pick and start understanding...

At least we won the war :p

He's not nitpicking.. he's pointing out errors in your post.

And what laws have been defied, while we're on the subject?

No Shambles cowered off...never even made it to book 2, and gave the "oh, i'll i'll get back to you later" shite.

Whereas you, at least invented a load of crap, to look as if you were able to respond. In fairness you're a tenacious mofo and I will get back you in near future. just, overworked and overtired right now.

Oh and yes: The laws of physics. There are many occurrences in the universe, that defy our understood laws of physics and are considered impossible by their definition. This is what I was getting at.

Awh raas I never realised you were working so much. You ok? You know I was only joking in the other thread about the phone call, right?! Not being some stalky weirdo. It's perfectly natural that you'd want to just wind down when you come here.

Such as?

You know theories are not laws, right? :p

Any way.. back on topic..

There are more creatures living on your skin than there are people on the planet..

I found this out a few days ago by coincidence, just happens to be apparently 'news worthy' today what with the start of the Commonwealth Games...

Did you know that Jason Statham was in the British National Diving Squad for 12 years & competed in the 1990 Commonwealth Games?

Jason Statham Dives

90% of the cells in your body are bacteria, only 10% have 'your own' dna (so who's really in control? :sus:)

(add to that, only 10% of microbes that exist have actually been detected (how do they know i always thought))

Black holes

Really? Those things we've never seen? You think we've got all the information we need to decide whether or not they violate the laws of thermodynamics? It's more likely we're missing something or Einstein's general relativity theory needs adjusting than it is for the laws of thermodynamics to be wrong.

Kangaroos have 2 uterus' and 3 vaginas, allowing them to be constantly pregnant.

Continuing the cosmological theme (sort of) - did you know that if you unravelled the DNA in every cell in the human body (or every cell that has DNA in it if you want to be nitpicky :p) and laid it end to end it would measure up to half a light year in total.

Actually I had a psychotic break which rather put me off the whole subject - and indeed everything else that wasn't (or indeed was) part of my delusional state - for several weeks which took quite some considerable time to deal with and come to terms with. I still might get back to you later - rather depends if/when the topic makes it back up to the upper echelons of my Things I Am Interested In list really.

Black holes

Covered that and - I suspect - any other example you can come up with which doesn't fit your own criteria.

Time moves slower at your feet than your head.

The earth's rotation is slowing down.. when dinosaurs ruled the earth a day was 22 hours long.

Related to the slowing of the Earth's spin is the fact that the moon used to be much, much closer to the Earth and moves away at a rate of an inch and a half per year which slows the Earth day by four hours every billion years.

(in the interest of honesty, i had to double check the actual figure and the rate of slowing was a google bonus)

Also, the moon is responsible for the tilt of the Earth at 23.4° & is what now keeps it stable. It is this tilt of the Earth that give us the seasons.
