i have no idea.. i put them on wet cloths and put it on my forehead when i get a real bad headache, it gives a nice cool feeling, but the paper that came with it warned about ingesting and prolonged skin contact.. but of course i ignored it because im smart like that :\
 
Actually youre wrong. Just because something is an opioid receptor agonist doesnt mean it will cross the blood-brain-barrier. Look at Immodium (loperamide), that shit is an actual opioid and doesnt relieve withdrawals or fuck you up at all no matter how much you take, so even if menthol did act on a receptor, it wouldnt do shit.

There are many here who would disagree with your discounting of loperamide as worthless for withdrawals and having no psychoactive activity, but let's hope this doesn't turn into another one of those threads.

Menthol is most effective as an MDMA potentiator, though it need not pass the blood-brain barrier for this benefit ;) *rimshot*
 
Not pure if NOT from a plant source?! you need to brush up on your chemistry, man. Plant extracts are almost never pure. Crystals are almost the MARK of purity, provided you don't have any other means to test it.

I completely agree with sekio - any narcotic analgesic is a mu agonist and usually kappa antagonist or partial kappa agonist AT MOST
Kappa agonists make you feel bad, not good. I could see them helping to reverse opioid tolerance though, by creating a feedback pressure for your body to free up more mu receptors cause you feel like ass.
 
Menthol crystals are, well, menthol crystals. You can make tea with them, you can smoke them, you can do whatever. But they're powerfully cold and minty.
 
I don't see what you're reasoning is, you call salvia a weak KOR agonist and then go onto say that you can most likely get high from a weak ass KOR agonist(menthol). Go and try high quality salvia and tell me how weak it is. The high from activating the KOR is disassociative and causes strong intense auditory and visual hallcuinations. Salvia shatters the ego, when you come down the seconds feel like hours as you readjust to reality. Coming back to reality in a confused state would not be fun during MOR withdrawal. At lower levels below the hallucinatory threshold, KOR agonism results in analgesia in females along with dysphoria. In males it cause an increase in pain sensitivity and dysphoria. When I smoke salvia, my pain sensitivity goes up, my skin feels rough.

KOR agonism will not substitute for MOR agonism. I guarantee the experience would be exceedingly unpleasant. Menthol will never be strong enough to get the effects you are looking for. I've seen that thread man. Look at Wikipedia for a K-opoid agonist. It reduces the tolerance of the other receptors and helps for detox/withdrawal. Now come back & report once you've had some mint tea.
 
That thread proves the exact opposite of what you're saying. Kappa agonist exacerbates MOR wd greatly. It does not help with WD. That is because KOR antagonizes MOR activity. You can also upregulate MOR with nalaxone and nobody would recommend that. The faster receptor upregulation just does not justify a much worse withdrawal. You're misinterpreting what you're reading. It upregulates MOR and dopamine receptors because it antagonizes both of them which adds to the already horrible WD.

Why don't you try to get high on mint tea? I wish you luck. Hdoublebreezy has pure menthol and can't get high from it. The menthol in mint tea doesn't have mystical powers that pure menthol doesn't.I don't need to try something that I know won't work.
 
The only thing pure menthol does is produce a sensation of cold, and clear one's lungs. I think it's time for this thread to close.
