Did you grow up around drugs?

When I was a baby, my dad did coke and drank a lot. Then when I was about a year old he went to rehab, came back && relapsed, went back to rehab and was clean for 19 years. After that neither of my parents drank, did drugs, nothing. I guess I have addiction in my genes... 2 years ago my dad started drinking again && taking pills but he's clean now. A lot of people assume that if your parents don't do drugs && you grow up in a good environment, you won't do drugs either. Very wrong. lol.
 
I didn't grow up around drugs. Nobody in my immediate family so much as drank. By the time anyone in my family started using any drugs, I had already started experimenting on my own. I started smoking weed at a relatively young age, but had no influence other than my friends.
 
My parents both used very heavily through out the 60s 70s and 80s. Pretty much everything they could find, all though they balanced their partying with responsible jobs, it got to the point where my mom needed to go to detox a few months after having me :/ I sometimes wonder if I'd be brighter if my mom didn't use while prego with me. She claims she only smoked weed and cigs but I dont know since there DOA was speed or coke, I never knew any of this until my parents saw the signs of my experiments, like all parents should do they preached harm reduction and told me how to use safely and balance a life. This all came out after I got drunk with my mom and she asked if I had any weed. She then rolled the best j in minutes. This was still one of the best times in my life : )
