When I was in the mists of my drug use months ago(am now on suboxone), something strange would happen to me from time to time. It's slightly hard to explain, when I was using and I over did it just a little sometimes my heart would feel like it's not beating at ALL and I had a really weird feeling of "Nothingness" that's the best way I can describe it. After I notice my heart rate being extremely low and the feeling of nothingness my heart would start to race like crazy! Almost like it was about to jump outta my chest, then all the color in my face would vanish and I would be pale as fucking ghost! I never new what caused this, besides maybe over doing it , or maybe I OD'd, or maybe it was just a panic attack. Anyone ever feel this way? Sorry if it sounds confusing and may not be in the correct thread. Thanks!

It sounds like some sort of heart palpitations, i'd get them sometimes on various drugs. It can be hard to tell though if there's a physical circulatory problem, or if it's psychosomatic though. Usually just from anxiety.

I agree with panic attack, maybe triggered by something physiological. Like maybe something causes an irregular heartbeat then you get panicked about it or something.

Agreed on the panic, possibly induced by you thinking "shit my heart's slowing, I can't feel it beating"?

If start to you get them regularly, get yourself to a doctor to be checked over just in case, some people are predisposed to irregular heart rhythms. And as always, if you are ever scared that you are unwell after taking drugs (or otherwise) don't hesitate to seek medical attention!

I know exactly what you are talking about. It happened to me about a week ago while on H. I was playing nintendo DS and started to get a slight dizziness. I started over-thinking about how much I had done and how I was alone and how I would be screwed if I overdosed. I then started to really panic big time I had to get up and walk around, look in the mirror and tell myself to calm down all the while my heart was beating harder than I thought possible and it was a definite panic attack. Eventually I was able to talk myself into being more rational and tell myself I was going to be fine and didn't do that much, etc. and after a few minutes it went away. Panic is a very scary feeling especially when you are alone.

OxyMorphMan-Yea bro, especially when your high and having a panic attack. Nothing is worse. Such a scary feeling when your heart feels like it's gonna burst out of your chest!

effie- I don't get them anymore because I started suboxone treatment, but before that I had been using Oxy for 5 years and it would happen like once a week, it was scary but I never went to get it checked out because I didn't wanna tell my doc I was an addict. The opiate didn't make me have any irregular heart rhythms really, just slow to fast within seconds. Nothing like uppers did to me, now that was a little more frighting to me. My heart would always skip beats when I did coke/adderal anything in the stim department. Which is why I quit doing all that haha.

Dizziness could be a drop in blood pressure from the opioids - stay sitting down if it happens, lie down in fact, and sip some fluids. As I said don't hesitate to get medical help if you are concerned.. panic attacks are truly horrible, and self-medicating with benzos (even if you are prescribed them) after taking opioids - especially if you are panicking because you had a big dose and were feeling a lil woozy - is not a good idea - if in doubt, get medical attention..

Glad they have stopped for you - you can get yourself checked out without mentioning the drugs if they come back or you are concerned however, just mention the skipped beats and irregular rhythm.. always best to be honest with your doc but if it's a matter of going or not, don't let that hold you back from getting investigated.

I have an odd thing that i experience as well.
The first time it happened i was sitting in class, very relaxed, day dreaming, and nice and warm feeling. Anyways, i felt as if gravity disappeared inside my body. i wasnt dizzy, i just felt like i was hallow. When i would breath it also felt very weird. It was like i could just keep inhaling and never fill my lungs with air. It was uncomfortable, it felt good. Breathing became enjoyable and super easy. I guess most people wouldnt describe breathing as being hard.. but u know what i mean.

maybe im describing the same thing? not sure.

Most likely panic attack, may i ask if you have anxiety disorder and are you on anything for it?

Oxycodone withdrawals have given me panic attacks after smoking strong medicinal sativa strains. Like Ive had major panic during opioid withdrawals (heroin was a bad one) attacks to the point of where I'm pacing the house, heart racing, shaking/tremors, and my hands and feet lost circulation.
