Did kratom ruin my opiate love affair?

So I'll try and make this short and simple.

I binge on opiates once in a while usually at low doses for no more than a week and have done so for years with no withdrawals or negative side effects.

About 2 months ago I was on a business trip really bored in the evenings and was taking kratom once a day 5 days a week. When the trip was done I stopped the kratom useage and about 3 days later I had horrible stomach cramps and felt very disoriented but it only lasted about a day so I thought nothing of it.

So about a week later I obtain 100mg of hydrocodone and take them within a 3 day period. Now 2 days after taking those I'm pretty sure I went through mild withdrawals. Lasted about 3 days again disoriented and severe stomach cramps but with diarrhea this time.

So now about a week and a half later I obtained another 100mg of hydrocodone and want to do an experiment. I took 20mg 3 days ago and felt a tiny bit of stomach cramps but nothing else, could have something to do with how I've been eating the past few days.

So I guess my questions are was my one day of shitty feeling a small kratom withdrawal, would taking hydrocodone have really brought back some mild withdrawals a week later, and how often would it be safe to use now if those really were withdrawals?

Sounds like your use has finally caught up with you. Just because you've got away with a schedule of use for an extended period of time, that doesn't mean it won't catch up to you in the long run... that's what happened to me with etizolam. If I had to make a guess I would say that what you experienced was very likely withdrawal, though the kratom wasn't solely to blame being that dependance with kratom on a fresh slate ie. No history of opioid abuse would take alot longer than 5 days.

In my case it took about 3 weeks, though I've heard of dependance to kratom building even slower than that. Take a good break and if you choose to resume taking opioids, try not to take them several days in a row... especially not a week, that's playing with fire if you ask me.

Ya unfortunately this is what I thought. I'm going to take my last few hydrocodone waiting 3 - 4 days between doses then probably take a 2 - 3 month break.
