Did i screw up my detox?

I took one 50mg tramadol thinking it would take some of the edge from my detox off, But now im worried i may have reset or at least set back my detox. Is it possible this happened from taking just one? thanks in advanced.
 
anything is possible

we can never 100% accurately guess what symptoms you would experience the same as you can't, but more information might help us help you more

likely its just a small bump in the road
 
All it will have done is prolonged the detox process for a little longer, as for that time you were under the influence of an opioids, subsequently meaning that your tolerance levels are not lowering as you'd expect during withdrawal, or at least they are slowed.
 
If i take imodium to help with the withdrawls would it have the same effect as the tramadol? I know it doesnt break the BBB, so does that mean it wont hinder my detox and just minimize the WD symptoms?
 
Ok so keep it 20mg and under, and just taper down threw the WD and i should be fine?
 
yeah imo you should be. There are people who've become dependent on immodium but just taper it quickly and there shouldn't be an issue. I don't find it hard to taper when the drug isn't getting me high. In a sense it will slow down your detox a bit, maybe by a day or 2 but i think it's worth it for managing the symptoms.
 
definitely. My back is killing me right now. unfortunately i have to wait until morning to go and get some from the store. Thanks for the advice
 
probably not completely reset but definitely a step back and it probably will prolong withdrawal in the long run...while being very weak, tramadol is an opiate drug and has effects similar to codeine.
 
Yott455 - Sorry that you're going through a difficult time with withdrawals. Loperamide can indeed help some of the peripheral WD symptoms such as diarrhoea and stomach cramps, but as has already been pointed out, it cannot cross the blood brain barrier on its own, so no nice helpful CNS effects.
