ok so i would like to know your guys input on my situation.

a few months ago i was at an event and had a horrible experience with mdma/ecstacy. the pills i got were yellow butterfly pokeballs. ihad read tests/reports on them before taking them and they were all reported to be REALLY strong but clean. i ended up taking one and a half over the span of the night. shortly after taking the second half i started to get horrible anxiety. i felt like i was going to die and was having some pretty strong visuals. i had a gatorade and tried to eat some food but couldnt eat. it wasnt like any other time i have rolled. i didnt really get any empathy except for a little on the come up. when i was having this panic attack i couldnt sit still and had to keep walking around. my legs felt really warm and relaxed. i ended up going onto the dancefloor after a while and from what i remember i had a decent time. i remember the visuals and the music were VERY intense and then after about 2 hours i started getting really bad anxiety again and started walking out of the crowd when i had a seizure. strobe lights were going off at the time and my brain felt like it was getting attacked by bees or something. i remember saying "what the fuck" as i was bugging out and grabbed onto my friends arm and fell to the ground. then it all went black and i woke up in an ambulance. i was given a drug test and it came back positive for amphetamines and no benzos or pipes.

Does this sound like an overdose? i also was probably in the wrong mindset at the time as well because i saw my ex at the event and right after i popped my first pill my friends got busted for having pills on them which started the night off on a bad vibe.

im scared to roll again but still would like to do it again sometime in the distant future. i had friends that took the same pills that night and they said they were really strong and only took 2 when they normally take 4-5. i think i might just have an abnormally low tolerance to mdma and the pills i took were just too strong and my brain couldnt handle it.

any input will be greatly appreciated guys thanks

I had the yellow butterflies myself and thought they were amazing. One of the strongest pills ive had to date. But you didn't take enough to overdose. Rolling just doesnt work out for some ppl. The fact that you had a seizure means you should stay away from xtc (and the whole scene) for good. your health is more important than one night of partying. there are so many things that could have caused this. any chance you are or were on an ssri at the time (anti depressant or mood stabilizer)? your mindset could have a lot to do with it too. mdma doesnt just release happiness and pleasure into your body, it releases seratonin. seratonin helps you regulate your moods, so if your in a bad state of mind, all the seratonin thats released will turn into negative energy instead of positive happy vibes

i took some vyvanse a couple weeks before to help study for school. 70 mg. i dont think that would have been the cause tho. but ya im staying away from it for a while and have gone to events just drinking and have had a good time so i will most likely just stick to that...

Welcome to Bluelight :)

It sounds like you just may be extremely sensitive to MDxx or perhaps it was the bad vibes and all the commotion that caused the panic attack.
Have you ever had a seizure before this incident?

Those pills were the best pills I have ever took to date. i took two and was rolling balls. but eh some people just dont mix well with mdma. ive seen a video of some guy overdose, and he was just shaking like crazy. no one could do anything either but let his brain melt.

It isn't an overdose that is for sure. Probably a bad reaction or a cut pill. People counterfeit pills and labs even put out crap pills on their good marks when they change presses.

Overdose isn't really possible in 2 pills, but a bad reaction is. The pillreports for these mentions amphetamines, he later says it was caffeine but I doubt it, probably amphetamines.

Dont wanna start to explain here, just gonna say - im pretty sure its not MDMA.

This was not an overdose (that word gets thrown about too much).

There are several copycats of the Pokeballs on the market now - if you werent testing then theres a chance that you took something other than MDMA and that would explain your problems.

I've had a similar experience on mushrooms, woke up on the floor of the bathroom with my friends on the phone with 911 (lucky for me I woke up before they had an ambulence sent). You probably hyperventilated causing you to pass out, when you pass out and your brain isn't getting oxygen you convulse.

MDMA shows up as methamphetimine on drug tests. Either way doesn't sound like an overdose. Sounds like a really bad anxiety attack. It's definitely a scary experience either way though...as much as I love me some mushrooms, I haven't been able to bring myself to do them again since that incident.

nope ive never had a seizure before prior to this

yeah i think it was an anxiety attack as well. i was given a ct scan and had no brain damage at the hospital. yes it was very scary

Yes you probably had too much. Having "too much" doesn't necessarily mean something bad is going to happen. It is just too much on your brain. I had "too much" the first time I tried mdma and I was blanking out and stuff at the end of the night. I was pretty close to having a seizure apparently ... I was with my bf and he took care of me so I was good.

It's scary but yeah it was probably too much. Don't take so much next time.

Overdose is not the right word, I agree.
ANY dose of MDMA is toxic, but most people do not react as strongly to it as you did.

However, there are plenty of anecdotal reports of people going very quickly from a good roll to a bad one. Normally this is very intense and full of anxiety. The person very badly wants the roll to stop but cannot do anything about it. It can feel like someone is pressing on the accelerator without letting up.

The serotonin system is one of the most complex of all neurotransmitter systems in biology. The innervation seen in the brain is more advanced and intricate than you can imagine. However, serotonin exists for one primary purpose above all others - digestion.

Did you know that serotonin AND stomach bile are made from only ONE dietary source - tryptophan? Also, 95 % of your serotonin and your serotonin receptors are in your intestines, NOT in your brain. Think about that.

The serotonin network is the 'brain-gut' connection, and playing with these intestinal nerves is what makes ALL serotonergic drugs amazing - MDMA, LSD, mushrooms, piperazines, mescaline...

Have you ever drank a lot of alcohol and been fine....but when your stomach empties into your intestines you get WAY too drunk? This is called first and second-pass metabolism. As your intestines go south, there are multiple chambers, each of them connecting to a different set of nerves in the brain. MDMA is normally absorbed rapidly from the intestinal wall, and if your intestines are TOO empty, the process can go WAY too fast.

I have had one REALLY bad mushroom trip and one moderately bad X trip - BOTH were caused by not eating enough food the day of the trip!
It would be easy for others to suggest I was 'genetically susceptible', but I remember both nights quite clearly. I had worked all day on my feet and ate a poor diet. The flushing of the drugs down my empty GI tract was the DIRECT cause of the problem.

You have to remember that all drugs can be effected by the rate of absorption, but MDMA is a known neurotoxin. Ignore the people claiming it is harmless - they are ignoring the wealth of scientific data. Because there are so many factors involved, MOST serotonergic drugs have the potential to go very bad, very fast. I firmly believe that one of the greatest risk factors, other than body temperature, is the state of the intestines at the time of use. What have you been eating for the DAYS prior - a great question for all users.

This may have been an episode of serotonin syndrome, also known as serotonin toxicity. It can be caused by other drugs in your system that increase serotonin activity in the brainstem - St. John's Wort, MAOIs, and 5-HTP have all been linked to this horrible condition. Serotonin syndrome is normally characterized by a sudden onset of tachycardia (rapid heart beat) and extreme anxiety. Many people experiencing this believe they are going to die. Some of them are right, as the risk of heart attack, stroke, liver failure, and swelling around the brain go up. Rhabdomyolysis is the break down of skeletal muscle tissue, which releases toxins that can damage the kidneys. This can be characterized by seizures, but is confirmed when urine is found to be VERY dark brown. It is a horrible way to die.

If treated quickly, serotonin syndrome can be effectively stopped with medication. However, the first priority for anyone having an adverse reaction to MDMA should be lowering their body temperature. Remove clothing and apply cold water or ice directly to the skin. Avoid drinking lots of water, as hyponatremia can set in and cause further brain damage or even death. This is an imbalance of water/electrolytes that leads to swelling in the brain. This symptom has been shown to occur in MDMA users without consumption of water. It is treatable with electrolytes - so any water consumed should have salt added to it. A high intake of salt can be dangerous, because it can increase the risk of catastrophic infarction in the brainstem. Sipping gatorade is probably the safest approach - AFTER you begin cooling down the body.

A CT scan can detect bleeding, stroke, or infarction in the brain, along with structural abnormalities. But it cannot detect the damage done to the serotonin network. The nerves are far too intricate for this type of scan.

Whether or not this was an acute attack of serotonin syndrome or a rapid absorption from the intestinal wall doesn't matter. They may be interchangeable titles for the same thing. What happened really sucks, and I hope you learned from it.

It is unlikely you had adulterated stuff. This is normally the first thing that MDMA lovers will say, and it is an obvious sign that they are ignoring the truth about MDMA - it comes with a LOT of risk. There are many factors involved, so it would be wise to try to minimize the risk by controlling some of the big factors - contents of the intestines, other drugs used recently, AND body temperature.

Dosing is recommended to stay at or below 300 mg per night of tested product.

Space your rolls out by at LEAST 3 months. This is the agreed-upon minimum among the veterans of bluelight.

Re-dosing is PROVEN to carry the highest risk in a mountain of scientific studies.

Good luck Mr. Raver.

people may say that the pill was adulterated...but it was actually just a high dose of mdma. they well known pills and test results proved there was no speed in them

thanks for all this info! i didn't have a lot to eat before the event so that explains a lot.

yeah i doubt they were adulterated. i just took more than i could handle i guess. next time (if ever) i roll im only going to take 1/2 or 1 just to be safe

So wait...

I heard that eating BEFORE you roll can mess up your overall roll.

So should you have a good meal before rolling? If so, how long before?

Yes, eating right before your roll is not what I recommended.

What I meant was don't go all day without eating. Don't allow your small intestines to become empty.
You don't want a full stomach for sure, but you really don't want an empty GI.
I also believe that a gut full of carbohydrates would detract from your roll, so try to eat healthy in the days prior to a roll. Remember, MDMA is hard on your body - you should take care of yourself before and after...
