Stimulants Did I just botch my dosing of vyvanse?

Hey guys,

I normally take adderall XR which, when I need a lower amount, I am accustomed to popping open the capsule, spilling half the beads out onto a spoon, and shotgunning it down my throat. However, I just switched to vyvanse, and upon opening the capsule realized the inner content was a powder, so being impertinent and dumb, I put the powder on a spoon, put a little water in my mouth, then dumbed the spoon in, swallowing instantly.

After this, I googled it and read that you should let the powder DISSOLVE in water.... OOPS!

So, did I negate the dose, and turn my vyanse into mere baking soda, or did I possibly do something harmful that I should watch for?

you're fine, don't trip, vyvanse is water soluble as far as i know, since it's an amphetamine. nothing bad will happen. nothing good will not happen.

It's better for taste to create an aqueous solution first, and also because increased surface area = increased absorption, but the way you administered it will likely produce the same effects.

The only thing you should do is squeeze Vyvanse capsules a bit before taking them, as some people have reported an extremely compacted powder mixture inside, which stays compacted even going through intestines. This has been confirmed by opening capsules and seeing a very compacted "pellet."

So, open the capsule a bit, but not enough for the powder to fall out, give it a lil squeeze, then pop it. Never tried Vyvanse, this is just what I've read.
