i thought if the blood goes into the needle by itself it ment you hit an artery and you should try to find another spot

Careful though not to go in too fast. Otherwise you may go through the vein (in and out again) with the syringe registering in between. You then think you're in while in fact you *were* in (but you're out again). Then you inject with a vengence underneath the vein! The spot where I injected looks OK. The skin around the hole is ever so slightly pinkish in an oblong circle. But not raised up at all. Does not hurt.....unless I press directly on the hole.
