Did I almost die this morning?!

So this last weekend I was drinking liquor the whole time. I had to be up early today for school & work & only got a little bit of sleep. I woke still drunk from the ridiculous amount of alcohol consumed. I took 15 mg of valium because I knew it was probably going to a stressful day with school & work & everything. So with that, I also wanted some coffee. Something strong so I got a quadruple espresso shot from Starbucks. Basically 12 cups of coffee. Bad mistake. I also didn't eat breakfast. Next thing I know I'm throwing up in the rr at work & my heart is beating like crazy. I started having a panic attack. I went home for my lunch break & try to eat a banana, then I just went on full on puke mode. My whole body was feeling completely weird, my anxiety was all the way up. I swear I could've thought I was about to black out or die. So I call my work to tell them I might not come back today that I'm having a panic attack. I took a nap for about an hour & go back to work. I'm still somewhat anxious but its going away. My heart feels weird as well, my arms are sore. Did I almost die? Has anything like happened to you before?

After a heavy drinking session its pretty common to feel really spaced out almost to the point of passing out - that plus not eating, the valium and the coffee has just pushed your already exhausted body over the edge.

Also skipping food after an alcohol binge will really screw up your blood sugar levels and that on top of everything else is why you were vomiting and having a panic attack. I would guess that these effects are temporary and will pass after some proper food, rest and fluids (no alcohol or caffeine).

You were having a panic attack, hung-over, not eating food so your blood sugar was very low, and you just drank caffeine. Espresso has less caffeine than a cup of drip or filter coffee does.

If you are worried about it I would see a doctor or medical professional but you were having a panic attack, and low blood sugar, and not dying even though I'm sure it sucked and was scary.

Were you drinking enough water? Alcohol and caffeine can both cause dehydration, which can lead to some of the symptoms you described. Try to take better care of your body. <3
