Dicyclomine

I was just prescribed this drug to treat my IBS after the buscopan stopped working. I don't hear much about it and i only got it because my doc is pretty old school and he prescribes this when buscopan does not work. The trade name here in Canada is Benylol. I have only taken 2 doses so far but it relaxes my stomach better then any other drug i have taken. I have also noticed that it potentiaties opiates way more and adds more euphoria to them then other anti-cholinergics which is great too . It's a odd one for me anyway and not unpleasant at all unlike drugs like diphenhydramine on their own.

I am just wondering if any other BLers have had this and how good they found it for stomach cramps and IBS. I am also wondering if this drug has a crap out effect like every other anti-cholinergic i seem to take. It seems to be available only in Canada and Europe not the US for some odd reason

Any input would be much appreciated as i don't know anyone else who has taken this drug

Does anyone have any experience with this drug at all? I don't think it's commonly prescribed in Canada because the pharmacist had to look up to see if it was still on the market. It is available in America after all under the brand name Bentyl and it comes in blue capsules.

I took this in Russia.... had some odd trade name.... but anyways it did crap out on me after about a month, maybe sooner. I really didn't find it to be effective enough to take, even when it did work because the dry mouth was horrid.

About the opiate part, I have no idea.... thinking about it, I had a huge supply of morphine I was binging on at the time; from bribing some chick at the pharmacy HA; but can't remember if it potentated the highs....

I took them on an as needed basis and found them great for stomach cramps. I always skipped them on days when I did opiates since they can cause constipation. I still have a bottle that's a couple years old that I'll have to test out one of these days.

I find it to work far better then Buscopan so far or the Buscopan and dimenhydrinate combo. It is by far the best medication i have ever had for stomach cramps and that's including the scopolamine patch even when i take dimenhydriinate while on the scop patch. So between the not being in screaming agony and having it potentiate morphine and other opiates i am happy with the Dicyclomine to say the least

Now i just really really hope that it does not crap out like it did for some on here. I really don't know what other antispasmodics i could try if this one fails so i'm hoping it doesn't crap out anytime soon.

Buscopan (scopolamine butylbromide, hyoscine butylbromide), Scopolamine in patch form (often combined with dimenhydrinate) and dimenhydrinate combined with opiates such as morphine.

The Buscopan worked great for awile but crapped out. Certain strains of Cannabis especially when taken with dimenhydrinate and scopolamine help as well but scopolamine with another anti-cholinergic makes me feel weird as fuck and my pupils get so big that i can't go outside without sunglasses. Cannabis especially kush, goldstamp hash and a few other strains help but not enough on their own.
