Hi again after a while,

I've never done diazepam because I still don't believe it can actually make you feel good. I've tried Alprazolam, Tetrazepam, Clonazepam in once a year period.

I however read a lot of great personal reviews on diaz. euphory good feeling with a spliff especially etc... so I'd like to finally make it straight (thats what she said) will i.e. 40 mgs of diazepam induce a nice warmy high feeling or not ?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT

Why I'm asking is, if diazepam isn't worth it, I'd rather buy few Tetrazepams...

Dunno what bdd means, sorry.

Why do you not believe it can make you feel good? If benzos are your thing, it sure as hell makes you feel good ! Benzos are typically more enjoyable for people who experience anxiety, though, as they get that sense of relief from them, as well. 40mg of diazapam should provide a nice buzz in my experience.

tetrazepam is probably the worst weakest benzo i've ever tried... diazepam is uncontestably more enjoyable.... it's somewhere between xanax and clonazepam... 40mg is good for a starting dose as long as you don't fall asleep... i find it more sedative than other anxiolytics

Thank you all very much for your replies.

Last question, can a cup of coffee diminish benzo's high? Meee not wanna sleep ! :)

When comparing benzos you need to look at potency before making any conclusions. 10mg Diazepam = 0.5mg Alprazolam. So if you take 40mg Diazepam it should feel comparable to 2mg Alprazolam, though there are of course differences. Diazepam has a much longer half-life, so you will still notice anxiety relief for a couple of days after. Alprazolam is more sedating. Etc.

To answer your question about caffeine and benzos, it really depends on your caffeine tolerance. I have a very small to non-existant caffeine tolerance, so, for me at least, caffeine is almost the anti-benzo.

Smoking tobacco also reduces the effectiveness of many benzos, diazepam included.

40mg of Valium works for my anxiety but it also puts me to sleep. Anything less than 40mg doesn't really work for me.

It probably WILL NOT deliver a "buzz." Valiums aren't euphoric, they're sedating. If you want euphoria, try an opiate.....or whippets. =D

I have zero anxiety, just recreational purposes on my side.

NeighborhoodThreat Hi, so if i get it correctly, with zero caffeine (also my case) tolerance, drinking a cup of coffee - to prevent being forced to sleep - would kill the benzo 'high' ?

Also I like smoking cigarettes on benzo very much, do they weaken the experience a lot ?

Maybe you do think I ask stupid questions, but as I say, I have a 'rule' to do benzos only twice a year tops, so I'm not really up to date with everything.

Thanks.

I experience the same thing when it comes to Diazepam. 20-40 mgs is a good starting dose too!

To fortify what NeighborhoodThreat said about caffeine, , caffeine does seem to contradict the effects of the Diazepam when and if I take my diazepam in the morning and drink a morning coffee. (The effects of diazepam are still present, but in the background of the stimulation and then crash from the coffee.) As far as it goes with tobacco, I smoke tobacco with my trees and from time to time it does counteract the Diazepam, just not as much as the caffeine

Coffee doesn't entirely counter-act the effects of Valium (diazepam) but it does certainly dull them down (as drugsrreligious mentioned).

However, diazepam has a long half life, and its active metabolites have longer half lives, which means its effects will last longer than the caffeine's effects.

I would try it without caffeine (or any other drugs) first, then see what a cup of coffee does to it, tolerance to caffeine is highly variable so I can't be 100% sure what the valium + coffee combo will to you.

I used to find valium very recreational,20-40mg should be a good dose and instead of smoking cigarettes try smoking a joint.

I wouldn't consider Valium recreational. Even in massive doses (60mg+) the only result would be falling asleep sooner, and maybe sleeping deeper and longer.

Hi, which benzo would you consider recreational ?

I've quite liked Alprazolam for that matter.

Question 2

Are Alprazolam and Valium effects exactly the same, except the longer diazepam half-life ?

Thanks.

In regards to which benzos are recreational or not, read this:

The Benzo MEGA THREAD - Direct Benzo Comments Here

Alprazolam, clonazepam, and many, many others are considered *by some* to be more recreational. I know many people who find diazepam more recreational than alprazolam. Still others don't find benzos recreational at all.

The effects of alprazolam and diazepam are similar, but not the same. You're right about the duration, however, alprazolam is short-acting (3-5 hours) whereas diazepam is much longer-acting. There are some benzos in-between these two, of course.

Both alprazolam and diazepam are good anti-anxiety agents, reduction in anxiety being their marketed purpose. The short-acting-ness of alprazolam is what makes more people take it recreationally but benzos can be fickle in how they affect people, it varies widely.

Alprazolam is much stronger than diazepam on a mg-for-mg basis and quicker-acting, so any euphoria produced is going to be stronger and hit you quicker. The best bet is to try both and see which one works better for you, in the end.

Alprazepam and diazepam are NOT exactly the same. They are very similar wherein they have the same pharmacological properties (anxiolysis, sedation, muscle relaxation, amnesia, etc) and similar chemical structures - but they differ in many ways also.

Not only do they differ in half-life length, they differ in how much sedation, anxiolysis, amnesic, muscle relaxation, etc etc they provide in equal doses (which are 0.5 mg alprazolam = 10 mg diazepam). I find diazepam is stronger at those doses all across the board. There is more pronounced sedation, muscle relaxation, and I would even say anxiolysis.

Also, although they are both benzodiazepines, they belong to separate families within the whole benzodiazepine group. Diazepam is a '2-keto' family member benzo, whereas alprazolam belongs to the 'triazolo' family.

they've never made me feel good, just a bit slow and wobbly. very boring drug to take trying to achieve a "buzz" in my opinion, but each to their own.

Thanks for the answers.

The Half-life of Diazepam is 20–100 hours, Alprazolam like 11 hours.

Does that mean if I ingest 40 mg of Diazepam with a spliff on friday, I'm still going to be f*ked up till sunday or monday, unable to perform regular daily tasks ?

And vice versa with Alprazolam, this would take only 11 hours ?

Please advise.

I've read (in this thread as well) the Valium is a really really nice downer relaxer (nicer than Alpr.) with some herb, but I need to be functional after the weekend.
