i got a drug problem: i need twice the amount to g
Alrighty, i'll get right into this:

I was on 90mg of valium for about a month, then was reduced rapidly, so i was on 90mg no more than a month, since then i have been tapering down, i've only been physically addicted to diazepam for 3 months in total, i'm reducing completely pain free.

I'm down to 7.5mg and since 20mg have been dropping 2.5mg per week, this has been painless apart from some poor sleep the first night or two following dose reduction, but nothing to complain about no rebound anxiety or stress..

My question to y'all basically is if i were to speed these last 3 reductions up to 2.5mg per 3 days reduction, should i expect significant withdrawal? Or will it be simply a tiny bit more intense version of the TINY bit of insomnia i get when i reduce?

I'm thinking due to valiums half life and my lack of time overall on the drug will work in my favour? What do you guys think?

Also before you guys ask i want to speed up this reduction because as soon as i piss clean i can start getting my 6 takehomes a month... but while theres valium(even though its prescribed) metabolites in my piss i cannot piss clean to get the all clear to move to the next phase of the mmt system.

So yeah i'm keen to be pissing clean asap for obvious reasons..

Benzo WD is a motherfucker and is dangerous. Are you tapering under the supervision of a dr? If not I would suggest that you do. Valium does have a long half life but it can also remain in your system for months, not allowing you to piss clean. I highly reccomend you talk to a dr as benzo wd is dangerous and can even be fatal.

Good luck!

Sorry for the lack of detail man. I'm tapering as per my methadone clinics "orders" basically. I dont have a long history of use just the 3 months with one being in the 90-70mg region, and then was reduced consistantly down to the current dose im at, since 20mg which was fair few weeks ago ive been dropping at 2.5mg every 3 days which no negative feelings except abit of mild insomnia for the first night or two following a dose reduction.

So i'm hoping that my tolerance is low again(well it should be i only take 7.5mg a day now and i'm fine) and i dont have too much valium built up in me due to me short length of time using valium. So i think lethal wd is out of the question at this point dude im not at 90mg a day right now lol only 7.5mg.

But yeah thats my question basically is my tolerance in suitable enough range that i could accelerate my taper to 2.5mg every 3 days. With the indicators to judge my tolerance being the fact that i've been dropping painlessly since the start of my taper until now, since like 5 weeks ago ive been on 20mg and dropped 2.5mg every days from this dose until now. So i'm thinking my tolerance shouldn't be too big, hopeforly its not literally months before i piss clean, if so thats so unfair of my clinic man.

Given your history you might be able to get away with continuing to drop your dose at the same rate but a lot of people find that last few mgs the hardest and doctors often recommend tapering those more slowly. All you can really do is see what happens and be willing to take that extra three weeks if need be.

Be aware that because of the way benzos accumulate and valium's long half-life, it will take a while for it to clear your system after your last dose (most likely a couple of weeks). As your clinic is aware of your benzo use and they know the sensitivity of the particular tests they use, they can give you a more accurate idea of how soon after your last benzo dose you should be good to start the next stage of the programme.

Difficult to answer your question dude. How old are you? How's your metabolic rate? Regardless, I can tell you what happened to me: I'd been taking 6mg of lorazepam a day for about four months before I began to titrate down. Everything seemed dandy. Within two weeks I'd brought myself down to 1mg a day with only mild WD irritations. I continued to take the single mg for a few more days, then, BAM! I felt like I was entering full-fledged alcohol withdrawal.

I didn't have the means to get any more benzos of any sort. I wanted one with at least a medium duration half-life (which lorazepam has), but I was desperate. So I went to the liquor store and bought some cheap booze to calm my screaming nervous system down quickly. Big mistake. Seems that in spite of the fact that I began the benzo WD after thinking I'd been titrating down successfully, the shit was still present enough in my system to potentiate the effects of the alcohol I drank.

I blacked out, woke up in jail with a busted chin from having fallen on the pavement right on to my face, and was mercilessly left in a holding tank to enjoy the lorazepam withdrawal. On the second day I had a grand mal seizure which fortunately grabbed the jailer's attention. I was sent to medical where the jailhouse doctor put me on a course of Librium.
