diazepam, thorazine, and grapefruit juice?

I bet the diazepam (valium) and grapefruit juice thing is like beating a dead horse, but I still don't know if it negates the effects of diazepam or it makes it stronger...I have heard both. So what is your experience with this?

Also, I am taking thorazine and lately have noticed my benzos have been ineffective in normal to high doses. I have already taken 50 mgs of diazepam in the past few hours (not with grapefruit juice) and I don't feel a thing. I am about to take another 20 mgs and was wondering if I should not take my thorazine and/or take my diazepam with grapefruit juice.

What do you think?

I know many of you have probably not had experience with thorazine, but any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

P.S. I am not taking either of the drugs for recreational value. I just switched from klonopin to valium yesterday. I was having to take up to 30 mgs of klonopin for it to be effective to my anxiety and in case you didn't know that is a HELL of a lot of klonopin. Normal dose of klonopin is about 2-4 mgs I think.

Grapefruit juice potentiates diazepam (makes it stronger), but in my experience you need a LOT of grapefruit juice to make a difference. Like a whole bottle. Thorazine shouldn't have any effects on your diazepam - I'm now on haloperidol and my benzos still work the same as they used to. Perhaps your tolerance to diazepam is just growing?

This is only the 2nd day I have been on valium. I understand the klonopin tolerance because I had been on that for years, but I just started valium yesterday so I can't have too much of a tolerance...right?

It's possible to get a cross-tolerance from one benzo to another. But yeah, if you've already taken 50mg's and you've only been on it for 2 days, you should notice some effect. Weird.

I've taken 80's mgs now and still feel nothing. Last night I drank 3 beers with 50 mgs and fell asleep, but I really am not a huge fan of alcohol. My liver is working too hard already with all the prescriptions I take.

Trying drinking about 500 ml of grape fruit juice 30 minutes to an hour before you take your benzo dose, thats what I've read on these forums for proper instruction and thats how I've always done it my self too

Grapefruit juice doesn't potentate strength, it increases duration. You have a higher tolerance to benzos than the actual amount you are taking now. The Thorazine is working fine, I take 150mg a night.

^ get the fuck outta here chump, were not telling you where to get any fucking drugs. thats not what this forum is about.

Gloeek it has to be fresh squeezed gf juice, and drink it half an our before hand. You sound like you got quite a benzo cross tolerance.

This!!!

I think you might have some cross tolerance going on. Perhaps eat a fresh grapefruit an hour before you take the valium!!! I have benzo cross tolerances as well.

try not taking the torazine and drinking like 12fl oz. of grapefruit juice with 80mg of valium becase 1mg of klonapin is equil to 5 to 10mg of valium and they cause a cross tolerance with eachother

This is a pretty obvious tolerance issue. If you truly were taking in upwards of 30mg of clonazepam, You are going to have to take 300+mg of diazepam for any effects, and even then you might not feel anything.
