Diamorphine Hydrochloride - Help With Useage

I know someone who has recently picked up five 5mg ampoules of diamorphine hydrochloride. This is stuff off of the UK's NHS. 100% pure.

Unfortunately, he doesn't really know what he's doing. He does know that he's going to be smoking it due to the unavailability of needles (he's able to get pharmaceutical-grade heroin but not needles, I know, it's ridiculous) but that's about it. I'm asking on his behalf what exactly to do. What dosage, what equipment, what method, everything really. It is his first time and he is very inexperienced with opiates in general, having only done codeine before, so he needs help.

Also, I myself am interested in the differences between street-grade heroin and this pharmaceutical stuff (purely out of interest), so if anyone knows anything about that please do tell.

Christ, you guys are taking quite a leap from codeine to pure pharm grade heroin lol. there's a world of difference between what you have and what is on the street. the difference is there is no cuts, and you know the exact purity and composition of what you are using. The stuff you have is infinitely safer than street shit as long as you take it responsibly and in reasonable dosages.

He did 5mg yesterday with a light-bulb and an aluminium straw on his own. Apparently he lost none of it and smoked even the residue. He said it was good but not as good as he was expecting; apparently at its peak the 420mg of codeine he had ingested 4 days prior felt stronger than the 5mg of diamorphine he smoked. He said he's going to be trying to get some needles in the next couple of weeks and shooting up the remaining 20mg in one go.

Vaping just about anything in salt form (with the exception of a few compounds like methamphetamine) is a waste IMO. If it was morphine diacetate base, this would be better, but in salt form, the melting point is going to be much higher and the heat is just going to cause the compound to degrade.

If he's really insisting on using a needle he shouldn't do 20mg at once.

5mg IV'd is going to be MUCH stronger than 5mg poorly smoked. Even 10 or 15mg could be too much, especially since he's never done it before.
