Opioids Dextropropoxyphene - Dexofen 100mg - Dextropropoxifennapsylat

I have just come across four 100mg Dexofen pills (my understanding is that these are the Swedish equivalent to the british, co-proxamol, without the paracetamol) in a blister pack which is labelled: Dexofen 100mg - Dextropropoxifennapsylat. Also from what I have read so far it looks like these been withdrawn from prescription in most countries.

I would like to use these recreationally but I am very unsure on dosage and I am struck that these could be quite a dangerous thing to be messing with. Any help would be much appreciated.

dextropropoxyphine is a very weak opioid, and a dangerous one to boot. It metabolites into nordextropropoxyphene which is a local anaesthetic (stronger than lidocaine), which can cause heart arythmia's and cardiovascular depression.

The buzz is really shitty too IMO, like a weak methadone experience. I would toss them. I found a bottle of 30 of these things a few weeks back, took a bunch for one day, and tossed the rest, as it just was not worth it (plus they were the brand Darvocet, so it had APAP in it, and you cant extract propoxyphine in napsylate form because its not water soluble0

Ok thanks, a weak methadone experience sounds better than nothing to me right now! I don't really have an extreme opiate tolerance and the main opiate I have used has been DHC (usually at doses of 480mg)

How much do you think I should take if I were to do it? and do you know if its safe to do it after 1.25mg of Bromocriptine which was taken around 5-6 hours ago?

Also what do you think about mixing these with some Nitrazepam to enhance the buzz?

The problem is the small therapeutic index of propoxyphene. Also, even if you have general opioid tolerance, you still don't have tolerance to the cardiotoxic effects of the metabolite norpropoxyphene, as they don't occur by opioidergic mechanism.

A handbook of medical toxicology I have says that the lethal dose is 600-1200mg.

Bromocriptine has no known interactions with propoxyphene. When mixing with benzos, the usual precautions related to mixing CNS depressants apply. Mixing with sedative antihistamines for potentiation could be a better idea.

Thanks for the input. I will try 200mg Dextropropoxyphene + 5mg Nitrazepam and see what results I get (I have mixed CNS depressants numerous times before)

Even if I don't get any recreational effects, I could do with the pain relief anyway. But as its in the class of opiods and one I haven't tried before I am hoping there will be at least a tiny bit of buzz or something there to brighten up the day.
