Stimulants Dextroamphetamine vs Meth

Hello everyone, this may be an entirely pointless post.
But what are the main differences between the effects of dextroamphetamine and methamphetamine.
Im not necessarily talking about dextroamphetamine specifically, just about general formulations of amphetamine based adhd meds and the like
Obviously meth is considerably stronger, so the comparison I'm talking about would use a very small dose.

Would medical-grade meth yield the same effects of dextroamphetamine?

If not, what would be the differences?


Also, if this is completely off base and its a stupid question, please forgive me, i need sleep.
 
Don't worry man you're fine, that's a good question.

I'm not an expert on that but I would just say that meth probably would create more euphoria, and also the method of administration most commonly used with meth is either snorting/smoking/injecting so with that alone you would probably achieve a better rush compared to just popping a dexie.

The effects would be quite similar and depending upon the quality of the meth you might like the effects of dextro more but otherwise the more likely experience would simply be a stronger high with all the same qualities.
 
dextro-methamphetamine will last longer; it'll have a more balanced 5-HT/NE/DA profile, and it'll probably hit VMAT2 harder AFAIK. Due to the latter, the "reinforcing/rewarding" sensation is going to be more intense.
 
People who switch to desoxyn (meth) from dexedrine/adderall/etc. (d-amp) frequently comment on how surprisingly mild it is -- which makes sense because the dosage is low (5 mg pills -- hard core meth abusers can take 200 times that dose in a day or more). Meth has less side-effects than d-amp when the dose is comparable. This is the primary reason why it is more effective as a drug of abuse -- you can take a much larger dose without as many unpleasant peripheral side effects. At therapeutic doses, you will feel the d-amp a little more, but they will be equally effective at treating symptoms of adhd.
 
Chances are that if you start your thread with, "this may be pointless." Then there's a good chance that's the case.
