Is it possible that dextroamphetamine and alcohol have some weird interaction that I'm not aware of? Perhaps something like how cocaine and alcohol together make a unique more potent metabolite, cocaethylene?

Basically I am asking because drinking seems kinda different for me now that I am taking a low dose of prescribed dextroamp. Like it could potentially be more addictive - maybe it's just that the alcohol smooths out any jitteriness/comedown from the dextroamp wearing off while the dextroamp helps decrease the tiredness etc from the alcohol? But I've also had some weird experiences where I still feel drunk 12 hrs+ after my last drink, which seems abnormal, doesn't it?

Alcohol will remove some if not all the anxiety/stimulation amphetamines produce. It also acts on GABA which are usually the choice of drugs used to treat OD and ease comedows. You will think you can take more Dextroamphetamine than you really can and could overdose when the alcohol wears off.

But no, it doesn't produce a cocaethylene type mixture. In my opinion all this mixture will do is cause you to take more D-Amp than you can handle or want to take. The alcohol will dull the amphetamine effects greatly, just like a benzodiazepine would. Save the alcohol for the comedown if you must, Dextroamphetamine is a beautiful amphetamine on its own. So smooth.

Sorry maybe I was not clear enough. I am not using the dextroamp recreationally, just taking 4 or 5 mg 2-3 times a day as prescribed. Drinking doesn't tend to make me want to take more, taking dex makes me want/be able to drink more. With weird results lol

I used to use dex recreationally with alcohol all the time. I gotta say that it is great, you get the stimulation of dex which make the alcohol more fun and keeps you going way longer. So I guess one of the issues is potential addiction. It will make alcohol so much better that you'll want to start drinking and taking dex at the same time compulsivley. The synergy is truly amazing, which can be a very bad thing. I did not use dex for anything but studying until I started drinking a lot and because of the combo I could party all night every night. This eventually turned me into an alcoholic.

Alcohol intoxication at heavy doses is not fun compared to other drugs IMO. Yet with dex it makes it awesome. I guess you should take that into consideration.
