I'm just wondering if there's a difference in taking Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) instant release (IR) versus extended release (XR) when it comes to studying, beyond the obvious length of duration. Is one more effective for studying purposes than the other?

Also, slightly unrelated, how would you compare Concerta to Dexedrine in terms of being a study drug?

Thanks!

It should act about the same, its the same drug after all.
Some people find that XR compounds can have a "up and down swing" thing to it, meaning that the effects wont be stable as one dose is on comedown while one is just starting to get absorbed and sometimes they dont overlap in the way that you would want it to.
I know this to be the case when Im taking Concerta (methylphenidat XR) for ADHD.
Im on Dexamphetamine IR now which works way better for me.

Personally, I think that Concerta (and Methylphenidat in general) is absolute shit when compared to Dexamphetamine.
It doesnt work half as good but with twice the side effects.
