Dexedrine ER working better than adderall or vyvanse

So today at my psychiatrist appointment i got my regular daily dose of klonopin prescription and told my psychiatrist that I didn't want temezapam anymore (I barely used it) and would rather have it switched out for a low dose and quantity of xanax (my favorite benzo when I wasn't prescribed any) for situational anxiety that the klonopin doesn't help with much anymore.

Also I couldn't tolerate the comedown and after effects of adderall IR and my insurance didn't cover Adderall XR so after some researching I decided to request if we could try vyvanse. Let me tell you that regardless of the different amphetamines I have tried (prescribed and unprescribed) I refused to ever take them more then twice a week due to the "comedown" aka nasty after side effects that leave me wanting to die literally. Well unfortunately Vyvanse has gaven me a rough time that I have been trying it the past few months. Far less euphoric than adderall (good feelings), no defined peak, little to no body high and extreme comedown effects when it wears off but less then adderall (Achy, very very depressed/anxious, grouchy, hopeless, virtually dead).

However with the medication changes I mentioned, I researched and had decided to ask him for dexedrine ER (spanule) since I read it was one of the most liked amphetamines with least amount of side effects. I don't understand if vyvanse was basically the same thing, than why did it feel so awfully different even though they both technically are the same?

By the way he prescribed me 120 quantity saying to take 4 15mg's a day (obviously not planning to even take it everyday). But isn't that a lot? Thank god I respect the power of amphetamines (In the positives and NEGATIVES) and have never been tempted to continuously take them or abuse them like a lot of my friends would do. I have pills and pills leftover of adderall and vyvanse that make me remember how shitty I feel after they wear off.

I only took 1 15mg dexedrine (expecting not feel a thing because even with no tolerance I would take 40-60mg of adderall IR in one session and usually 120mg of vyvanse) which many have told me is very very very high for someone with little to no tolerance (plus i'm 5'6 and 145). But I can already feel these good positive feelings and nice calm euphoria from just only that 1 15mg dexedrine (which is probably like 30mg vyvanse? but feels way better then even 120mg LOL).

Anyone else feel that dexedrine ER is better than vyvanse and adderall in terms of euphoria, focus, less anxiety/depression and side effects? My brain is having pleasurable tingles from this tiny dose (and im suppose to take all 4 at once and only took ONE). Im just hoping it gets better, and I pray their no major comedown like with vyvanse and adderall.

Anyone else think dexedrine ER works better than vyvanse? It seems like it to me, but why if they are the same drug essentially??

I'm on 40mg of Vyvanse right now and switching to Dexedrine ER in a few days so I will let you know what I think then!

Vyvanse has the added component too:

"Lisdexamfetamine dimesylate, the active ingredient, is actually a therapeutically inactive prodrug. This means that the psychostimulant is released and activated more slowly, because the body needs to change the lisdexamphetamine molecule before it is therapeutically active. This process naturally makes lisdexamfetamine into an extended-release formulation. The extended release feature is therefore an integral part of the molecule itself, rather than being dependent on how the capsule is constructed."

so I'm not sure, but I wonder if some people's body's are just not as good at this processing? I'm really not clear on the process exactly though, but it was just a thought. :/ so hopefully someone can clear it up.

there's a million reasons why it may work better for you. and vyvanse isn't exactly the same. some people response to levo/dextroamphetamine more than dextroamphetamine alone. vice versa. some people respond to methylphenidate better than dextroamphetamine. etc.

i think you shouldn't question it too much and go with the flow. if it works better, it works better.

the internet can be a hypochondriac's hell.
