My mate recently scored some dexamphetamine pills, can anyone help me out with a dosage that will get us goin' for a few hours at a party.
 
15 mg time releases are meant to last 12 hours.
--> 5 mg will last a few hours.
double or quadruple if you have a high tolerance for stimulants.
 
Without a tolerance to amphetamines, my first doses of dextro amphetamine were about 20-40mg time release, once or twice a day. If you want to just get a good high going for a party or something, try about 30mg time release. And honestly, that shit does NOT last 12 hours. Hehe believe me :)

How closely related is this chemical to d-amphetamine sulphate?
 
Well it may not be all a sulphate salt but it is all d-amphetamine (some formulations use a couple differnt salts that dissasociate at differnt rates to manage a psuedo time release).
 
i know the 15 mg doesn't last twelve hours (for me anyway, more like 6). but the worst thing one can do is start off taking too much.
speed is a funny thing. you don't think you are high and next thing you know you took too much and are in junky limbo for 3 days hiding from the shadow people and taking 8 showers a day.

Did you say whether or not these are time-released? The time release will cause the rush to be minimal - if you're looking for fun make sure you crush it into powder, and this can be a bitch... Still d-amphetamine is better than the other pharmaceutical amphetamines (adderall, ritalin)
 
The whole dexedrine/adderall argument is really just personal preference. But for what its worth, laboratory rats much prefer d-amphetamine over l-amphetamine. It only seems logical to me that whichever drug contains the most d-amphetamine is the better of the two. On a similar note, some crazy people prefer ritalin to either of the two.

Also I like your explanation that whichever contains the most d-amphetamine has the better odds of being preferred. This seems logical to me, too. However, maybe taking enough adderall to match the dose of d-amphetamine as that in a dexedrine dose (say 60mg adderall to 30mg dexedrine) would produce a much nicer high because of the EXTRA l-amphetamine. Just food for thought.
 
people here mentioned the need to crush the little balls in the capsules.. a good method for this if youre going to take the drug orally (wtf else would you do with a pill) is to chew some gum - of strong flavor - remove the gum from your mouth, add the balls and get them as well ingrained into the gum as you can, and continue chewing gum. quick and dirty, but its rather effective. from what ive heard, the taste is not that nasty.

Although l-amphetamine does nothing on its own, it does seem to change the amphetamine high when combined with d-amphetamine. For example, adderall lasts noticeably longer than dexedrine..and there are other differences as well.
It is the same way with MDMA...only d-MDMA has any recreational effects (l-MDMA has no effects on its own), and yet the vast majority of people prefer racemic (a 50/50 mix of l- and d-MDMA) MDMA over pure d-MDMA. Thus, while we can't fully explain why, somehow that l- isomer is doing something...

Sigh...Straight from the product insert for Adderall. Each tablet contains d-amphetamine and l-amphetamine salts in the ratio of 3:1. That means 75% d-amp and 25% l-amp. So try 45mg of dexedrine (instant release) if you want to make a comparison.
l-amphetamine does have some dopaminergic effects (unlike l-methamphetamine, aka Vicks Inhaler, which has no significant DA effect) but as confirmed by experiments, it is less potent than d-amphetamine and elicits less of a behavioral response at similar doses. Also, l-amp's most prominent effects are cardiovascular while d-amp has more prominent CNS effects. So l-amphetamine probably has some effect even by itself but you can't really say much more than that unless you have taken it in its pure form.
I agree that Adderall does last longer than Dexedrine; its much better for treating my ADHD while Dexedrine gives me harsh rebound effects during the day. In adults, the half-life of l-amp is 13 hours and d-amp is 10 hours (also from Adderall Insert) Why this translates to longer effects overall is unknown but (aside from different half-lives) its POSSIBLE that people respond preferentially to different isomers and the aspartate and saccharate salts aren't metabolized as quickly as their sulfate counterparts. But even though Adderall's therapeutic effects lasts longer than Dex, the buzz sure as hell doesn't. Either way, 4-6 hours of fun at most. But when I want a buzz, I break out the Dexedrine. Again, it really boils down to personal preference. There aren't any studies yet where people are given the Pepsi challenge to decide between the two.
