Hi all im a sufferer of adhd, been on ritalin for 2 years than prescribed dexamphetamine now prescribed concerta. works wonders. Just needed different opinions from sufferers of the same disorder and your perspective and experience as to how this disorder has affected you. My cousin resides in the USA, she been claiming adderall might work, but it differs to every different individual. need some opinions on adderall

It's unlikely that adderall would do anything other than increase your side effects. It's effectively the same drug as dexamphetamine, except instead of being pure d-amphetamine it's 75% d-amp and 25% l-amphetamine, which increases the physical side effects without improving the mental stimulation.

Adderall isn't the answer - dex is much better. Take regular breaks. Some psychiatrists don't seem to think it's important but from personal experience I'd say it's the main thing that keeps dexies effective at the same dose over time. I think if you get obsessed over needing this drug to make your life work, you'll just end up chasing higher doses or different stims to make everything ok. Meds for ADHD are like a simple tool - they aren't the answer.

Another ADHDer here. I'm on dexamphetamine, 20-30mg/day.

If you're having tolerance issues, you'll probably want to chat with your doctor any maybe try another med. I wish I could help out more, but I've never had tolerance issues (probably because I don't usually take on weekends),

>Can i acquire this medication on the internet with my ADD diagnosis?

Not nearly worth the risk.

l-amp is superior to d-amp when it comes to short term memory tasks. Moreoever, anyone and their dog will tell you that Adderall is a far superior RX than generic D-amp both in amplitude and release kinetics.

Yeah, right

Hi laugh i'll rephrase, i've been on ritalin for the past 2 years, effects started diminishing, and i experienced some negative symptoms which was mainly minor, so I was

offered dexamphetamine by a practitioner, after long term usage effects started diminishing drastically as per usual, some minor side effects started experiencing ,

although I was taking higher dosages, totally my fault and ended up in the ER, one time by mixing it with phenibut which i purchased on the internet as a supplement in the USA,

my fault, i deserve it . Yes i understand about hang ups and bad days, but yes thankyou

very much for you concern. I think it's just me that's experiencing the side effects after prolonged usage

have heard great stories how people have completely cured from adhd/add after seeking medical help. Maybe just not for me.

I'm going to try resorting to natural approach rather than being on meds, i'll be exercising and trying out yoga with my mum and some meditation.

if all else fails again than then i'll seek help by medical practitioners. After all they've studied and earned their stripes in acquiring a meds license and psychology degree.

kindest regards

Sorry are you on dex, Ritalin, or concerta? And which do you want?

Could you perhaps edit your last post to be a little more clear and concise? That way we can understand you a little easier and you might get some more replies to your queries.

Doctors and psychs are only people same as everyone else, they too have hang-ups and bad days. If you feel they are being condescending or unhelpful I would take my business elsewhere. They always want you to make another appointment, wouldn't you if you we're charging in the hundreds for appointments of minutes.

Ok till you start to come of then you get kinda shitful to deal with.... best take a benzo and chill the fuck out someplace quiet. Dex is clean but the shitful feeling coming off is not great.

Hi i was on ritalin first then switched to dex, today got switched to concerta as i needed a extended release throughout the day, rather than taking huge amounts of dex.

throughout the whole day, which can be a hassle as i don't want to constantly carry a whole bottle with me whether i'm driving or grocery shopping for mum.

I'll probably try the concerta and see but i don't think it works, concerta basically is ritalin in extended form. I might just be one of those unlucky lads that builds tolerance

to meds lightning fast. Even when i was being treated for my acne by my dermatologist, used to just take low doses of roaccutane and have a course, acne came back eventually started

higher doses and higher. Think its just me some of my mates that have tried roaccutane works wonders after one course, no remission or whatsoever.

thanks.

Hi yes i'm prescribed teamze and valium, will take them when necessary, to avoid some withdrawals which i experience personally, maybe everyone is different,

and on some forums i've read not every individual gets withdrawal symptoms, so i'm the unlucky one i guess SIGHS :(

Yep thanks everyone for the help, everyone is so nice here, if i need more advice, i'll post up here every now and then, so good to know theres anonymous forums on the net,

where i can discuss my disorder with anonymous add sufferers.

hi laugh yes goodnight will sleep now after eating a chocolate snack, i find that dark chocolate and taking l-theanine which i bought online advertised as a supplement kind of helps,

l-theanine is a natural substance found in green tea, it's perfectly legal from the USA, love the USA and the people there, hence my cousin migrated there, always have legal healthy supplements

that can be easily acquired.

Agree, however I don't see their (GP) reluctance to prescribe certain AD(H) meds entirely their fault!

I do agree with booking in with a different doctor if you're not receiving in your eyes adequate treatment*! People forgot that - although a doctor does have a responsibility to not only making sure a pt is diagnosed correctly but also to their employer (whether it be their own practise of a clinic/GP-super clinic) and their professional (which all include not prescribing medications which are actually required) - they also must provide a minimal level of care. So if you honestly believe you're not receiving a correct diagnoses to a condition or the GP is not performing up to professional standards, you're entirely with in your rights to essentially seek a second opinion! (and a third and forth if necessary!). To the extreme, if you feel you're being discriminated against there are (independent!) processes/paths to go down in order to have it resolved! (kind of like Ombudsmens I guess :p )

I knew someone who did such a thing as she was getting constant, frequent blood noses (something often common / non-specific) - she had to see three GP's until being referred to orthopaedic specialist and finding a tumour throughout her nasal sinus!

* obviously not in terms of doctor shopping nor just because one wants a fix

(clinically dx) AH(H), isn't quite a easy as "just calming down" unfortunately sometimes pharmacotherapies are necessary.

(not that i'm specifically disagreeing but) Source? :)
