Hi,

Read that this combo would potentate noradrenaline re-uptake. In theory what effect might that have in someone with ADD/ADHD?

Would this combination significantly change the action or effect of dexamphetamine?

Dosage amitriptyline 30-40 mg night
Dexamphetamine - 10 - 15 mg day

Potentiate noradrenaline reuptake? How would it do that?

It will block noradrenaline reuptake, and the amitriptyline will stop the d-amphetamine from working.

"Established post herpetic neuralgia should be treated with a TCA at a dose increasing over 2-3 weeks from 10-25mg of amitriptyline or nortriptyline up to 50-75mg at night. If either of these agents is ineffective after 8 weeks the patient should be switched to maprotiline 25-75mg at night increased to a maximum of 150mg at night. It has also been suggested that adding dexamphetamine 5mg in the morning may potentiate the effect on noradrenaline re-uptake."

not saying that's correct but that's where I got it from...now I know that its not a credible source but hey, I was curious.

Well when it is saying "potentiate the effect on noradrenaline re-uptake" it means, potentiate the BLOCKING effect on NA reuptake. Which it will do a bit; but you'd be better of just increasing the dose of amitriptyline.
