Dexadrine and Sleep

So i have been trying to come up with the best way to use dexadrine and still enjoy sleep. What im thinking now is 7.5mg 7am, 7.5mg around 12 and then 5mg around 4pm. Id probably be going to sleep round 12, 12:30. These seems pretty solid, but i know that sometimes its easier to sleep when you still have a little dex in your system and arnt fully crashing. Would it be good to take like 2.5 mg at 6 or 7 for this, or do you think what i have worked out looks cool?
I have some melatonin case i slip up, but id like to be able to just sleep without it. Haha hope i stick to those low doses thats probably the most important factor....:\

Depends on your tolerance. Dexedrine affects mainly dopamine in your brain. Because of that, it tends to be more of a mental stimulation above a physical one. As seen with Adderall, the levo- isomer tends to act more on norepinephrine which causes your body's adrenic system to become stimulated, ie: racing heart beat, sweating, fitgeting, etc. There is still the risk with dexedrine to experience that jittery and restless feeling, its not uncommon to get restless thoughts.

You should be fine once your more adjusted to the effects of dexedrine, for me Dexedrine is amazing. Its clarity and the ability to fall asleep fine no matter how stimulated I am (moreso rated by dose I took). Its easy to fall asleep if you just calm yourself slowly, keep breathing steady, let your heart race if it must but keep your breathing slowly getting into that rythm for sleep. You want to do activities before bed that allow you to slowly decompress and de-energize your mind in a sense, computer, tv, reading, etc. You'll lose track of time but if you keep a close eye on the clock you'll do fine.

Listening to music with a slow pace, ie: classic rock, etc, will also help.

You should be fine, however, 2.5mg is not a high dose. The only thing you'd expect is a slight kick feeling that you'd get from drinking a coffee. You'll be fine. Overtime Dexedrine will feel like a mental clearing instead of a huge stimulation, though at any dose the concentration and confidence is increased though not ultra-apparent to unexperienced users. Higher doses should be avoided of dexedrine solely, people tend to sometimes have a better combination when using a medium dose of dexedrine with a small dose of adderall. The adderall will give the body stimulation you'll want sometimes.

Hope that helps, good luck, stay safe.

I have absolutely no trouble sleeping at 60mg of dexamphetamine SR per day (30mg qAM, 30mg qPM). In fact, I actually tend to fall sleep much faster with dexamphetamine taken in the morning than without. The fact that I have ADD is the most likely explanation (although not a complete explanation, as the true molecular cause of this paradoxical stimulant effect--in ADD or normal cases--is unknown). And, now that I think about it, Adderall was actually more stimulating in a "wake-promoting" sense. For me, Adderall had more of a PNS/anorectic effect and triggered a little more of a "tweaked" feeling than Dexedrine. Normally, Dexedrine has no significant anorectic or PNS effects for me.

I recall reading a recent study demonstrating that the scalemic amphetamine mixture in Adderall (75% (d), 25% (l)) actually triggered a longer-lasting detectable increase in striatal dopamine release than straight-up Dexi. So maybe Adderall really is the Tweakers' Choice (R), whereas Dexedrine is less prone to cause insomnia.

Wow, that was a lot of talking...maybe I am a little drunk (and overly loquacious). Either way, I would say that you should try to take around half of the daily dose in the morning, as the duration of action--while shorter than the 8 hour plasma half-life--is still 4-6 hours. Your daily dose appears to be 20 - 22.5mg, so try 12.5mg in the morning and 10mg around 1PM.

I won't go into whether ADD/HD is real or not, althought i often wonder.

I will say that the first time i took a friends 5mg IR Dex tab and lay down, i fell into a deep sleep for two hours, woke up and it felt like i had sleep a good eight hours-it was wonderfull, for someone like me who often escapes reality through sleep.

I relayed this to a Psych who had me on methylphenidate, and he switched me to Dex

I'm actually scripted 10mg to take at bedtime. sometimes I'll span out my last day time dose so I can take 20mg @ bed. It's very relaxing and pleasurable to lie down on 20 mg.

@scream re: whether ADD/ADHD is real.

like I told my boss the other day " A few years ago I was diagnosed as having adult ADD/ADHD. There are plenty of people who don't take that seriously, but regardless, whatever cognitive problems I have, that's what they've decided to call it."

EXACTLY te same with me!

At 31 i was given the same 'diagnosis' by a Psych who tried several meds before bringing up, hyper/attention/inattention issues and treating me with Methylphenidate.

I was shocked-Ritalin was a kiddies pill wasn't it?

Over 3 years later i (never having been a drug abuser) regreat to this day being introduced to addiction by this guy.

I cannot seem to stop it.
