⭐️ Social ⭐️ Detroit Megathread

place i went was deeper but not downtown. Old Polish neighborhood back in the day.

Lots of houses gone since the last time I visited by buddy.

Like i said most of my friends are gone. They all had lived in the city and stayed there. I moved away when I was lucky enough to make it good in business.

This bud i refer to now was my "go to" and best friend . BATT, he was a junky (I was no better since I was using too).

Now he's off the stuff but my wife objects to me bring him around. He has no job
and I think my wife is being very judgmental.

He really a great guy and trust worthy. Many was the time I nodded out at his pad and he could have ripped my wallet off. But he did not.

I am pissed over this. But at the same time I am afraid to drive my work van to that part of town for rear of theft.

Even when you get "Right', life can kick you back down.

I fear that unless he is removed from his local the chances of relapse are going to be 100%.

The only guy in a position to help him is me, but my wife does not want me to
do thing. She won't say but she's afraid I would relapse. It's a legitimate reason, I know.

I am hopping maybe some of my industry associates are looking for motivated
people as laborer.

But we all know how hard a sell that is.

There is a God after all!!!!!!

After my last post I decided to call Danny. I can mention his name now...

The reason i was so worried about Danny's chances for recovery was he lives with his brother and female cousin....both users.

I just called and spoke to the female cousin and it turns out that not only has Danny been clean for over four months but his brother and cousin have been too!

OK, so I know this is only important to me but I feel like i am sharing my good news with the whole world and everybody is cheering!!

This is just so cool I can't believe it. I won't mention any other names since i don't know if the family would like it, so I will be mum on the subject.

But this makes me very happy indeed.<3<3%)%)

I haven't been to the city in a while, about 6 months. I know about 6 months ago the East Side was really hot, especially the 7 Mile and Hayes area. Just wondering if that area is still real hot with pigs. About 6 months ago I wasn't so much worried about the cops as I was of the stick up kids and armed robbers. Since the area was such a bad heroin area, white people became an easy mark for the animals to rob. After I got robbed at gunpoint by a dealer and his gunman I said fuckkk this and quit. Haven't done any opiates since. It just isn't worth the risk to me anymore. It doesn't matter how good of a relationship you have with you dealer I realized. You can just as easily get killed by a hot shot or by some crazed negro or white trash cocksucker in the hood who decided he just wants to kill that day because he doesn't have any money and would rather prey on a whitey. I sincerely hope everyone stays safe if you are going to continue to cop dope in The D. One Love.

In all the time I used I never got robbed or threatened once. I think it was because my guy was with me. There were plenty of times he told me to keep driving when he saw an ambush ready to happen.

I do a/c and furnace work and I have some people and some distant family who till live in Detroit. I had to pass that spot you mention and I am only saying this as a guy who just passed by the intersection on my to a customers home and not a user.
I grew up in that area and on my way the neighborhood looked as peaceful as when I lived there.

Good to hear your friends doin good HVAC. Its a hard road to stay on.
Im assuming the old Polish hood is Hamtramck?

Right on the border. Jos Comp .

The neighborhood it swapping crucifixes on old vacant churches for minaret spires.
My boy said they are Bangladeshi mostly.

He told me he waiting for the Muslim version of Jehovah's Witnesses to come knocking on his door to convert them.

LMAO....Danny has not told a joke in 20 years so he must be doing good.

And after seeing so many homes being abandoned in the neighborhood it's good to see some decent , principled folks move in and fix up the homes.

better late than never I say.

C mc1... People copping heroin and getting robbed is not rare LOL. I'm sure it happens every single day in Detroit, somewhere. Pigpen is right... when I was introduced to heroin and copping in Detroit, people always took me to dealers right across 8 mile... in the 7 Mile and Hayes area. So that's where I always went, it was all I really knew. It was all business hundreds of times. Then that one time, I have a guy point a shotgun at my head, another guy bust my window and take my keys, get dragged behind an abandoned house, robbed, then I had to run through an alley. I called the popos and they picked me up and took my back to the spot I was jacked and obviously the car was gone. A few hours later they had the dumb fucks on a high speed chase and they drove through a chain link fence and got away. Goddamn do I wish they would have caught those cocksuckers. Fuckers would be sitting in a cell as I type this. Instead they're still out robbing and killing. Fuckers would have got charged with Armed Robbery, Auto Theft and felony firearms. They'd be doing a nice little bit that's for sure. I know that every bad thing I've ever done I've had to pay for it in one way or another, so I can only imagine what is in store for these winners. Oh well, I've made my peace with it. If the Pope can sit down and talk to the man that tried to assassinate him, I can get over this thing too haha. One Love.

Theres a lot of frustrating things to deal with if you want to live in Detroit, thats for sure. Ive just learned to let it roll off my back as best I can. I had a dealer get in my face just this morning cause I woke him up at 7 30 am when hes supposed to be serving ppl. He was pretty fierce for a guy leaning into me being twice his size Ill give him that, but for the most part things go pretty smooth where Im at, a non descript neighborhood that deals almost strictly with locals, not many kids coming down here to my area. Add that to the fact that the dealers want their customers to feel safe. We dont have 3-4 different dealers trying to get your attention just every few blocks we have a different spot, and its taken care of. When Iwas starting out copping down here it was in the Cass Corridor in the early 90s. That was and still is a riskier place to cop but I doubt as bad as any of those places on 7-8 mile, that shit is the wild west out there. I like my area here where everybody pretty much knows eachother, but thats hard to do unless you live here for a while. If you want to keep a habit your gonna be spendin some time in jail unless you live here though. Cops out there in the burbs wont think twice about locking you up over a few packs. (KONCK ON WOOD)

There were a few times that I could not find my guy and I had to go with out him.

There was an intersection cross compo and there were about six guys that knew me on site.
The one day i showed up with out my guy they surrounded my truck. "WTF". it think to myself.

One guy rolls up to my window ..no gun showing and tells me "We know you're right and you take care of your guy. But there are guys here who will hurt you.
Just remember that if you have cop alone. Next time we might not be able to keep you safe."

I copped and left. My guy reamed me a new as hole for going alone.
Se how fucked up you can get when you're sick?

At the moment, I am scared to go down there and cop. If I can stay scared to go down there, I'll be happy. But then again addict man can at any moment say "hey it's OK, the chances of getting robbed aren't as good as getting your dope and getting high." I've been clean for 6 months, but an addict is a loaded gun that can fire at any moment.

It's hard to stay clean but with quality of the dope being a shitty as it is, I would think it would make things a little easier to stay clean.

Three friends of mine got clean because as they got into their later years they took stock of their lives. All they did is sit around doing dope. And they didn't like the stuff they had been using. There was nothing better that they could find. They gave up the habit out of disgust with the quality of the dope.

Anny port in a storm I say.

You should watch the movie called "things we lost in the fire" It kind of sounds like what your talking about.

Detroit sounds like a scarey ass place to be a druggy.

What's scary to me is driving minding our own business and a burb cop pulls me over. I have a scip bottle on my motor cover in plain view. It's hydrocodone 10mg each. Quantity of 125, a months worth for me.
Cop grabs the bottle and starts accusing me of selling. I told him his department (gave him the person's name) desk told me that it was the legal way to carry it.

Cop who pulled me over said it still was suspicious and advised me to only carry what I need for a day in a smaller scrip bottle.

So i get a smaller phial with the scrip info onit, all legit.

So now I am in Rosevile mi and every body knows in the tri-county knows Roseville cops.

This time I get pulled over, bottle out in plain sight..only one pill in the bottle..
cop accuses me of selling. I say the bottle is too small to hold 125 pills. He says if I am not selling them than I must used all and should not be driving.

The drill here is they take you in to the station for a piss test and of course if you are taking hydro it'll be positive. DUI
I whipped out my phone on speed dial and called my attorney.

These guys are known for "Over zealous" hook ups.

But when the cop heard the receptionist of my lawyer answering on speaker phone he took the rhetoric down a few notches.

He let me go but not with out the usual "Don't drive dirty in my city".

Brothers and sisters this our criminal justice system at it's worst. To get the magnitude of how bad it is, Google Sterling Heights MI and also Google Roseville Mi. Compare the stats: Population, land area major thoroughfare.

You will see Sterling is much larger than Roseville, population and size. Sterling is one of the forth largest cities in Mi. Roseville does not make the top 20.

And yet Roseville's court building houses three times more court buildings than sterling or any other burb.

They have a main traffic artery that connects all the burbs from the working poor bordering Detroit all the north into the affluent municipalities.

For the longest time this Fascist City has criminally ticketed everybody and his uncle who comes down Groesbeck Highway for the most trivial of reasons.
They're favorite targets were the very young drivers and the working guy who lives from pay check to pay check.

The don't target middle age guys driving late model vehicles or work vans with
big name service companies on them.

Roseville tried to lean on the middle age guys too, but so many lawsuits resulted from the citing officer mis conduct they now only stop us older guys only if it's a "sure thing"

But to day if you go in a Roseville courtroom you will still see and hear the misjustice of the pettiness of a court system just out to make money.

One poor Hispanic guy was working two jobs to feed his family and he needed time to pay the bullshit traffic infraction they charged him with.

He could not make the payment schedule the court laid down and they threw him in jail instead of accepting what the poor guy could afford.

Guys who show up with an attorney get off and the judge is very polite to the defendant .

No attorney, you're dog meat. They take a guys car and make him serve time if can't pay.

Yep, they got nice a cash machine going for them selves in Roseville.

My attorney (God love him he saved my ass from that predator town) said if Roseville were investigated like common criminal they could be charged under the Rico Act.

Twenty six years ago they arrested one of my service techs for DWB in the burbs.

I got so pissed cause I knew the guy was right and would not take a chance on breaking a traffic law.

I almost got a beat down from the entire Roseville PD. The desk sergeant was real shitty to me when I tried to bail my guy out by check. I went home and brought back cash. we exchanged words (Understand i was former Special Forces not too many years out of Nam. I was stoked and ready).
Desk sergeant got in my face. I pushed back. The PD was all around us...so I called my attorney on the pay phone.

The cops cleared the room quicker than a Japanese Super Flush toilet. And they let my guy go.

Abuse of authority, my biggest beef in the world.

And the shit they did to my tech while in custody.....let's just say everybody
needs an a/c or a furnace repair guy some time. Cops are incurably impatient, it's a character flaw common to all Roseville cops..

At the time we had a big Yellow Page ad for the business.I attracted all the people who wanted a tech NOW and we did not disappoint.

Eventually all those cops that abused my guy(his civil right, that is) called for either a refrig repair, a/c repair, or a a Furnace repair. That big yellow page ad caught the impatient cops eye. We responded to the call together (on the advice of my attorney) Those gents all were left in the wind waiting for parts that never came. My guy got his pound of flesh.

God that period of my life was so tumultuous.

Sorry but I guess i just got going on a jag and didn't stop.

Hvac I have lived in Roseville for many years and have been pulled over a few times and Only got a verbal warning. Even when I was arrested for a DUI they were very professional almost nice. The only cops that I ever had problems with were in mt Clemens and they kicked the shit out of me.

That was not my experience. I could enumerate several more occasions of abuse but I won't do it on the board. Gets a bit tedious just reading posts from somebody who bitches on and on about the same thing.

I don't like Roseville cops. They are racist as i found out first hand when they arrested my technician.

I want everyone to know that Roseville takes in more revenue from unfair traffic violations and other misc traffic related citations than any city in MI.
Even if your cops are "Nice" and professional to it's residents does not mean they treat outsiders as well.

There is no way Roseville can just justify the amount of unfair and petty tickets they write and huge amount of of money they derive from it.

Sterling is much bigger than Roseville but the court building much smaller than Roseville's. And we have VD Mound and Dequindre which generates more traffic volume than Gartiot and Grosebeck.

So why then does Roseville need a bigger court complex bigger than Sterling?
Either Sterling Heights is under writing tickets or Roseville is doing something very unfair.
But you are a resident and drawing direct benefit from the issue at hand.

And with the changing face of Roseville I think you probably feel a little more secure because of it.

I never looked at it from an outsiders point of view. I was not aware of anything that you posted. That just seems wrong. Now that you mention it I don't recall seeing any black cops. All the ones I see are white. Now you got me thinking.

i got you thinking? can't be a bad post then.

moved to mi from az and haven't found anything nearly as good as az dope. is it bad everywhere or just where i am?

I don't use any more but I am told by others it is probably 10% purity.
I used for several years chasing the euphoria I had felt in Nam. Never came close so I quit.

Most of the mix is cut with a bunch of other shit making it worse.
Arabs run the dope biz here.
