Detoxing with the Waismann Method?

You outta read the horror stories about this method. I think they are at heroinhelper.com. It sounds fucking terrible.

Wow!!! That sounds great and definitely much more affordable to me. I'm ok with feeling a bit groggy from all the meds but the thing that makes me not go through with my detox each time is putting up with the actual heroin withdrawals.
<snip>
deal detox from drugs, heroin especially. If the detox is lesser than a handful of days I'm sure I can make something up and get away with it but the most important thing is being back at work ASAP since my life pretty much revolves around me having a job.

Why did you relapse and get back up on dope and what where you doing and how much a day? Of course your not supposed to get high if you do suboxone or naltrexone but I've been through suboxone before and it doesn't matter, if you do enough dope you will get high. For me it took about 2 grams of dope and I was then feeling high anything after that but sick at the same time for doing so much.

Also do you know if the treatment that you did is available in California? I live in LA so I'm close enough to most major cities in CA that I can just drive to. Anyways anymore information you can provide me with on how to find a place that does the treatment you went through I would appreciate it so hopefully I can get on the ball with this and go through with it.

Lastly, throughout the whole process did you feel any withdrawal symptoms from the opiate you were on like cold sweats, the chills, being nautious, throwing up, diaherra, or anything else and which ones?
<snip>

Again, I am strongly against this type of treatment. Listen to smackem and search for all of the horror stories involving ultra rapid detox. It is not a miracle cure like you are making it out to be. Someone who shoots 2 grams of dope to over power suboxone to get high has some serious issues and apparently was never ready to quit. I suggest you get on a methadone program. You might miss a few days of work while getting adjusted but there is no way in hell that you will be able to quit your habit without massive w/d symptoms after the two days of supposed treatment. You are delusional and naive to think that you can magically erase a long term drug addiction is two days with the magic cure. Completely and utterly naive. No amount of money is going to save you the horrors of withdrawal from such a nasty habit. You should seriously consider OST (opiate substitution therapy) such as suboxone or Methadone in your case since you claim the suboxone didn't work. Do that for awhile then taper down from that and stop when you are ready. Frankly, I don't think you ever really did the program correctly to even attempt to get cleaned up as shown by your taking 2grams of dope to get high while on the suboxone. No wonder why it didn't work for you.

For someone who's really motivated, I bet it can work. For the rest of us poor schmucks who really painkillers? It's not gonna work to well.

Suboxone or Methadone is a much better idea. I would greatly prefer to be on Methadone to Suboxone, but I can't afford it, plus the gasoline back and forth. I did it for two months earlier this year, but couldn't afford it in the long run ($15/day + $15 in gas)

I do have some questions which I'll ask here because I think it will be great if the information you give can help someone else also but I'll also PM you just incase.

What I want to know is how long was your detox treatment at the hospital? The reason why I ask is because I have a very important job where I work like normal people M-F, 8 hour shifts and it wouldn't exactly look good to my boss to tell him I needed to take a few days off to deal detox from drugs, heroin especially. If the detox is lesser than a handful of days I'm sure I can make something up and get away with it but the most important thing is being back at work ASAP since my life pretty much revolves around me having a job.

It took about 5 days total. The first day i went to the doctor's office and they took blood, BP, all that stuff. Then they told you what is going to happen and they give you the meds. Then the next 3 or 4 days you just chill at home, you're kinda out of it cuz of the valium and shit, but OK. You can't go to work though. The on the lat day you go back to the doc's office and are there for like 6-8 hours. So, all in all you have to miss about a week of work, or 5 days and the weekend, however you want to look at it.

I relapsed cuz I wasn't ready to stop doing drugs. I just went through the detox cuz it's what my family wanted, I was kind of tired of it and thought I would quit, not because I really wanted to, just because at the time it was easier. So, I relapsed ultimately cuz I wasn't ready to quit.

And yes, the one I went to was in CA, actually in La Mirada. I live in Riverside, so I am about an hour from you. You are even closer to the place than me. I think they have anotiher office somewhere else in LA also.

Lastly, no, I didn't really feel any w/d's. When I was at home, before the narcan, they gave me tramadol. I was doing about 2 grams of heroin IV per day and they gave me enough tramadol so that I didn't really get sick at all. Plus they give you valium and some other shit, so it's not bad at all. When they gave me the narcan was the only part that was uncomfortable and the only bad part about that was short bouts of restless legs. I was heavily sedated but sometimes got that restless legs, can't sit still feeling, but the doc would give me more sedatives and I made it through OK.

I have a buddy who did it also at the same place, his habit was smaller than mine and he went through it even easier than I did. He just slept all the way through the narcan day.

When I did it I was doing about 2 grams a day. Granted, I did relapse and you are right about this not being a substitute for treatment and such, but it does work to get you off of opiates. What I mean, is that after the 5 days or so at home and then the day of narcan, all of the opiates are out of your system. So you are clean and felt almost none of the w/d's. So, in that respect it does work. But, you are correct in saying that this alone is not enough. That was my problem. I did this and then nothing else cuz I didn't really want to quit, it was just easier at the time to clean up for a few months.

Also, I think the horror stories are for the type of detox where you are completely asleep and under full anaesthsia. I wasn't, I was just heavily sedated. Also, you have to take the horror stories with a grain of salt. Maybe a few people had some horrible reaction, but saying that that is the norm is like the people who die after taking 1 E pill and saying that is the norm. Shit happens yes and when anaesthsia is involved there are always dangers, look at how many surgeries go bad, but overall, most people come out of it fine.

Any of the medical research on the various rapid dextox techniques have shown nearly identical probabilities of relapse as with other traditional methods.

Ibogaine therapy has shown some pretty remarkable results for many types of addictions. I find it fascinating it also can work with alcoholism and amphetamines. However it supposed abilities to block withdrawals are not what makes it effective.

It's a soul-shattering mind-fuck of a hallucinogenic trip that seems to have to the unique ability of brutally forcing people to reevaluate the nature of their life and their substance abuse.

Many come to with no desire for their substance of choice. The most interesting term of heard of people who complete an ibogaine session is that they've been "reborn." It's not uncommon for people to cry hysterically for a large portion of the experience.

Under no circumstances should anyone attempt an ibogaine session on themselves. Medical supervision is necessary.

Hello,

I have been addicted to heroin for a year now and smoke about a gram a day. During the year I've detoxed once with suboxone which wasn't that rough but it only lasted about a month then I relapsed. I have recently tried detoxing again with suboxone but I just ended up getting real sick and relapsing. I tried it two times and got too sick both times.

I was looking for alternative methods of detoxing and came across another new way called The Waismann Method where they put you to sleep with anesthesia for 1-2 hours and remove the opiates from your brain receptors with an antagonist drug. I don't remember what the name of that drug was but thats what they told me over the phone. When you wake out of it you stay in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) for two more days then they let you go but you are not supposed to experience any withdrawal symptons or anything during the whole process. Maybe some diaherra for heroin addicts but thats about it.

The cost for the treatment is pretty jaw dropping though, $15,800 is what they told me over the phone. Anyways I was wondering if anyone here knows anyone personally who went through it has any success or unsuccessful stories. $15,800 is an insane amount of money but not feeling any pain or withdrawal is worth gold to me and being up and back running in 4 days makes it worth it.

Anyways please let me know if you guys have any comments or provide me with some feedback.

Thanks,
- Jake

Yeah, I don't mean to completely bash the treatment. It just doesn't work in the long term for most people. It costs A LOT of money and you could get these drugs from a regular addiction doctor for about 200-300 dollars total including the doctor visit. Doing a C/T or switching to vicodin for a couple of days and loading yourself up with some benzos would do almost the same exact thing and you would save 15k. lol. You can be fairly clean and withdrawal free from the H in about 5 days. Then you should be fine. A couple of weeks of PAWS and you are set.

The sucess rate of Ibogaine is not well documented. I have a hard time believing that it works as well as some people claim it does. Until someone shows me a well done study on it, I will continute to think that Ibogaine is over hyped. There is no quick fix for opiate addiction, if there was there wouldn't be so many junkies.

Waismann? Niiiice. Problem though is that Dr. Goodman invented it. Goodman was an IDF MD who because of the propensity of IDF Infantrymen to develop opiate addictions, developed the method to get the man back to duty as soon as possible.

Problem though, is that some of us died (I never allowed them to do it to me). Fast Forward to NYC where Gooberman (another IDF MD) and Goodman teamed up and hung their shingle. Same thing began to happen but as yet it is slipping by under the radar.

I am sure many others have posted about how it does nothing for mental addiction which is the true addiction, etc. I just wanted to point out a different facet.

I don't think MMT is a good choice for someone with only a 1 year addiction history. I think a straight detox (using benzos, clonodine, etc, a non-opiod assisted detox) or maybe suboxone. I just think 1 year of addiction is way too soon to get on methadone maintainance.

they actually followed a kid around on one of those MTV true life episodes who was going to have this done, he was heavily addicted to oxycontin and his mom put the money up to go to the hospital, it showed him while he was under almost looked like he was havein a seizure. after it was done he woke up an said he felt like crap and looked completly out of it, i think he made it a month befor he relapsed, 15 grand well worth it. to the op, you got sick when you took the suboxone because you didnt wait long enough, try em again and wait more then 24 hours after your last dose you should be good.

I actually saew that too, the kid was Shooting Up his OxyContin right?

The Detox looked exactly like a seizure, he was even coughing and shit, I dont remember how he looked when he woke up but i remember watching the documentary.............. Holy shit he Relapsed 1 month after?????? If I was His Mother i'd be SOOOOOO Pissed off, i'd slap the shit outta that kid.......

A straight detox for a heroin addict? Ouch...... Even if it is only a year long habit.:(

This Guy was willing to pay $15,000 NOT to feel his Withdrawal Symptoms, After a year of heroin use they can be pretty bad........ I dont know the detox of heroin but i DO know the detox of Oxycodone and Morphine (2 Different Times) and wouldnt wish that on anybdy............

Man, if I were you i'd go for Straight Up Methadone Maintenance...........

If you're really motivated, any method of quitting will work. Be it cold turkey, OST, detox, or an instant detox such as this.

This seems like a bullshit way to spend money to lower your tolerance. Although, it doesn't really lower your tolerance much. Tolerance stays with you even after you piss clean and you're done with acute withdrawal.

...And going on MMT is an INCREDIBLY expensive way to 'get rid of' a heroin habit. Not directly, not immediately pricey, but how can you suggest MMT to someone who wants to detox? Suboxone is one thing (I do not consider my suboxone regimen being clean in the least), but methadone is almost worse than the dope! Sure he may get his life 'evened' out on it, if that is his problem in the first place, but then he'll be stuck with a much higher tolerance, and an addiction that IMO blows away a moderate/heavy H habit. If he can't deal with the 5 day withdrawal from H, he will likely end up a methadone addict for life...

MMT is cheap as shit dude. Esepcially if you're a junkie with no job. Chances are it'll be covered by the gov't. AFAIK, Suboxone isn't, even if you were to get it at a methadone clinic.

You're right though, methadone isn't a good thing to detox with.
