Hi there, this is my first post on a forum and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but if somebody can help me I would really appreciate it.

My problem is and has always been the opiates. I love them and always did love how they made me feel. I feel like I'm on top of the world when I'm on them, nothing bothers me and I feel like there's nothing I can't manage with them. I've been using them over the past 3 years recreationally and surprisingly my tolerance is very low. 10mg of hydro can still give me the best buzz. So over the past 4 weeks I got prescribed with opiates on 4 different occasion by my endodontist, dentist and oral surgeon. I'm in my mid 20s and where I live I don't think they see painkillers as a big problem and they always give it to me without any problem. I have a great career and make money and I don't think anybody thinks I use them recreationally. The reason I got prescribed is because I have tons of teeth problems. My parents didn't take me to dentist once and the first time I saw one was 2 years ago. I have TMJ, 3 impacted wisdom teeth, bad large cavities that need root canal and things like that. So as of today I ran out of my meds and I'm suffering badly very badly even though I did use them recreationally in the past, this time around I only used for pain and they did help tremendously. And being out of them is terrible I've used highest dose of ibuprofen, Advil, Tylenol you name it nothing is helping. In the past month I got prescribed with norco 5/325 twice Percocet 5/325 and lastly Percocet 10/325 and they all did help with the pain and I was able to continue working without taking off. Tomorrow I'm going to see my regular dentist for cleaning and he does look at TMJ etc too. I will tell him the amount of pain I'm in and ask him to write something until I see a TMJ specialist next week. I'm also seeing an oral surgeon next week and I'll schedule my wisdom teeth removal surgery too after my consultation. I've tried everything to manage the pain but nothing other than painkillers is helping. Wisdom teeth along with TMJ is no fun. If the dentist doesn't prescribe me anything, should I go to ER? I can't deal with this pain and losing sleep please help.

Sounds like hell... and I'm not sure what to suggest other than follow a pain management plan with medication and wait until you can get the surgeries you need. With teeth that far gone it's hard to recommend anything else. If you just had a tooth ache or something minor I'd recommend clove oil or anbesol but with your teeth in that state you're having deep nerve pain and inflammation which can only be helped with meds.

If you want to try bringing the inflammation down you can take garlic, turmeric pills, and cloves internally. They'll enter the blood stream and fight off some of the bacteria that are surely having a field day in your mouth. You can also try icing your face... 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off, whenever you can. Sounds like an emergency situation though... impacted wisdom teeth are serious business. They should be removed before they turn to abscesses.

TMJ and tooth grinding are nervous system stress responses. Some people hold their stress in their gut, others in their jaw. You can reduce it by increasing the mineral content of your diet, especially magnesium and calcium. Sounds like your teeth need it anyway. I hope you're also taking liquid vitamin D... if not, get on that.
