, have you tried those milkshake type things, the brand names will no doubt be different in the UK but its a kind of meal in a glass, I used to live on them when I was full on parting every weekend, at least you get some fluid and nourishment inside you and your body with absorb it quite quickly so even of you do throw up you've more than likely got some of the goodness. For me anorexia is not only about bein thin but havin control of something in my life. Can't seem to control my life right now..
Anyway the reason I was rx'd Desoxyn is because all weight loss/ADD meds my insurance will only pay for 3 yr olds to 21 yrs old. At my age Desoxyn is the only covered med.
I'm goin to tell him Thursday. Now if I do eat, I throw up..

Dextroamphetamine causes MAD/INSANE appetite suppression. I would know - I've been on it for many years now.
Well Desoxyn is extremely rare, but I'm telling you I had a lot of trouble finding a pharmacy that carried Dexedrine when I first got them scripted. I remember the day I got the script and I went to every pharmacy within a 5 mile radius of my house and none carried it. I was shocked. They all carried Adderall, but not Dexedrine. I didn't get it filled until the next day. I started to call pharmacies instead of driving around looking for them. Some were reluctant to give out that info over the phone and others said no. Until I called this one Rita Aid and finally they said they carried it. I hurried over to that pharmacy and got my script filled (actually, a Kroger pharmacy also carried it, but they were more expensive at Krogers so I went with the Rite Aid).
Don't take this the wrong way, but this means you are on way too high of a dosage. I've never seen anyone on 60mg of Dexedrine, especially not 20mg IR at a time. I think you might be looking for the wrong things from ADD medication therapy. It shouldn't be giving you a forced sense of motivation, or fixing your procrastination issues, but rather just normalize your focus levels, so that by using behavorial modification techniques to correct for motivation and procrastination, you can focus normally. The rest is up to you.
ADD medications, especially CNS specific ones like Dexedrine, should not cause appetite suppresion if dosed properly, think about it. The purpose of ADD medications is to raise prefrontal DA levels to a normal transmitting level. Normal people (who don't have ADD nor take Dexedrine) who have normal prefrontal DA levels have no problems with anorexia. You are pushing your naturally low prefrontal DA levels past normal transmitting levels in to abuse levels, bringing on insomnia, anorexia, etc. You might not feel insomnia due to the benzos you are on, though.
ADD medications that are dosed properly usually stimulate appetite in most users, including myself, as they allow me to remember to actually eat instead of getting hyperfocused on a single interesting activity for 6-7 hours when I'm sober. At this point, your ADD will not be controlled at a normal dosage of 30-40mg Dexedrine daily, taken 10mg at a time, since you are dependent on a higher dosage, but I'm just letting you know that you are probably taking too high of a dosage.
I know, I know, "everyone is wired differently." The rare people who actually require 60mg of Dexedrine a day have rock-bottom levels of prefrontal DA, probably so bad that they would simply forget to eat until dinner time, and they bring those up to normal transmitting levels with their medication, again, not suppressing appetite.
Anytime a pharmacy i was at didn't have a med I was scripted, they always offered to special order it and stock it for me. If you have multiple scripts and it'd be more convenient to get em all at one pharmacy, you should def ask them if they could do this for you too!![]()
I am scripted Dexedrine 10 mg IR and I take 20 mg 3x/day. I should've been more clear, but I am speaking strictly on basis of the drug. Dextroamphetamine causes serious appetite suppression, there's no doubt about that. I didn't say I starve because I'm on Dexedrine. In fact, I eat normally throughout the day now. But when I first started taking Dexedrine, I wasn't able to eat much for at least the first 2 weeks at therapeutic doses. However, I do on occasion take more than I'm prescribed at once for a good buzz and at doses of 50-60 mg, I can't eat anything. What I meant was that the drug itself is a serious cause of appetite suppression or anorexia (not the disorder, of course), even at therapeutic doses for those that aren't tolerant. Someone with no tolerance to amphetamines at all will not want to eat on even as low of a dose as 5 mg.
