Desoxyn is the most mild RX stim prescribed for ADD as far as suppressing hunger goes, unless the added serotonin release from methamphetamine suppresses hunger. I would suggest Dexedrine (5mg ER or 10mg ER once a day), only because it comes in an extended release formulation, so as long as you don't crush the beads, it should release gradually and suppress hunger less.
If you are taking stims for ADD, they should not suppress hunger. Desoxyn is known to make people "speed" at 10-15mg, which includes euphoria, insomnia, appetite suppression, etc. Desoxyn/Dexedrine should
not do this at a responsible dosage, perhaps you are taking too much? ADD meds sometimes stimulate appetite in some people, including myself.
Adderall, Caffeine, Ephedrine, those are all bad news for ED's even at lower dosages. If you are taking any SNRI's, SSRI's, or NDRI's, these can also make the problems worse. I remember you had a long list of meds you were taking, perhaps you shouldn't take ADD meds for "ADD" that could just be plain old cognitive impairment caused by the side effects of all those other psych drugs, no offense.
And don't do that cycling fasting bullshit listed above. I like Steps as a poster, and agree with his other posts, but all that's going to do is wreak havoc on your insulin levels and make you gain weight, leading to a relapse of an ED afterwards. Eat normally, every day, a good meal every 4-6 hours.
I've lost 30 pounds this year because of eating good food very often, shooting my metabolism through the roof, to compensate for an inability to exercise often because of injuries. And, I've been able to retain most of my muscle mass. Whenever I eat 1-2 meals a day instead of 5, I
always end up gaining weight. Please bring this up with your doctor, this isn't healthy for your mind, mood, endocrine system, or your weight. Only
you can take care of yourself, not us
