Do they look different? Are they still hands? Are they your hands? Can you even look at your hands? Do you even know what you're looking at? Your hands are like a consistent symbol that you can use to check the reality you currently occupy. Think about it: a picture of your hand from first person perspective for each drug you've done. Under each of these images, there's a description of what it meant at the time.

This could be a great project with photoshop (for those of us with enough skill to convey the visual aspect). The hand is easy to understand, it looks roughly the same to all of us. It's not like a face or any other object, so there's less complexity or difficulty in communicating exactly how different it looked under the influence of __________ as opposed to sobriety. Describing a change in your face or your room or anything else won't mean anything to another tripper, describing a change in your hand (It's the only thing we all feel the same way about) will be immediately understandable. Especially if you were so fucked up you didn't even know your hands were hands.

Perhaps we could make a hand map for trippers? Postcards from parallel universes? To others or ourselves? Do you all think this is a good idea? I do.

Similar in intensity to the way my hands looked on DPT.

DXM: These are not my hands, I find this quite amusing. (Afterglow) My hands flange/echo when I wave them, this is more amazing than when actually high.
Ketamine: (After the fact, since words escape me): Finger branches. Not even hands. Just...things with no name.
DPT: My hands look like they've been exposed to a toxic substance, or as if I've been starved for days. They are so bony and I can see traces of blood inside of them, as if my skin is becoming translucent. I am thoroughly convinced that there were impurities in my dose and that this could be the end.
Salvia: My hands literally seem like they're two different entities with a life of their own, separate from me. This is terrifying in an epic, clausterphobic way. I'm trapped with these two entities coming out of me. This is too much.
Diphenhydramine: My hands are even more unfamiliar than on DXM, the dissociation is probably more severe overall.

I haven't paid as much attention on other drugs, fuck... but I know everyone has looked at their hands on different drugs. So, please, describe what they looked like!

I really like this thread.

My hands on DMT are incredibly scary to me. Red and wrinkly they look like they're melting and dying of old age at the same time. I don't particularly like looking at them.

it seems tryptamines tend to fuck with your perception of a hand..
ive had times when i thought, this cant be right..
my hand is shrinking,
its like your hand is of a childs.
very strange indeed,

DMT does little to my perception of my hands, I don't tend to get mindfucked even on up to 80mg + a fat wad of jungle spice (though i do sway about very much in an odd manner)
However in my youth when we used to go picking, and would get pounds and pounds fresh psilocybes, both 'purple ringers' and 'blue meanies' and eat em within the night (YUMMY!)
There was an occasion where my hands Began to age, and age, and age, untill they started to decay and even blow away as dust in the wind at the end. had to shake my head after that one. 8(

well idk how to post a picture up on this. I would like to show my interpretation of what my hands look like on DMT. any helps with posting it would be sweet :D

On shrooms one time my hand looked like a human tree branch, my fingers were like the twigs moving back n forth. They had a greenish brown color to them.

I know what you mean exactly, it's definitely strange...
you should listen to the song "Kid Gloves" by Rush.
Here's an excerpt:

"A world of difference
A world so out of touch
Overwhelmed by everything
But wanting more so much

Call it blind frustration
Call it blind man's bluff
Call each other names
Your voices rude,
Your voices rough
Then you learn the lesson
That it's cool to be so tough

Handle with kid gloves
Handle with kid gloves
Then you learn the lessons
Taught in school won't be enough
Put on your kid gloves
Put on your kid gloves
Then you learn the lesson
That it's cool to be so tough

A world of indifference
Heads and hearts too full
Careless of the consequence
Of constant push and pull"

ps: Rush is the ultimate psychedelic band!! If you've never heard the album "2112", or the songs "Cygnus X-1 Book I" & "Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres", then you're missing out on some of the best rock n roll wisdom out there. "Cygnus X-1 Book I" is an epic song that details a man's journey to the black hole of cygnus x-1(which is a real black hole at the centre of our milky way galaxy) on his ship "rocinante". The song is actually a metaphore for the inward journey one takes to the eternal place at the centre of the human psyche (aka ego-death). And the ship "rocinante" can be seen as a metaphore for any psychedelic drug which transports you there.

At one point while on 4-aco-dmt, I looked at my hands, and suddenly they weren't my hands anymore. They looked a lot shorter and stubbier. Same goes for my feet. I actually thought for a moment that I had the hands and feet of my friend that I was with, for she is a tiny person. I just stared at my hands for a while, marveling at the strangeness of them.

You need hands to hold someone you care for
You need hands to show that you're sincere
When you feel nobody wants to know you
You need hands to brush away the tears

When you hold a brand new baby
You need tender hands to guide them on their way
You need hands to thank the Lord for living
And for giving us this day

Funny that this topic is being discussed today. I was just staring at my hands on MXE. I can't really describe the experience. They didn't look any different, but they were just aesthetically a lot more interesting. Almost as if I was looking at an alien appendage. They didn't seem to be my own.

honey flip- my left hand looks really soft, while my right i can see every crack and bead of sweat, and no matter what angle i look at them its all the same

On MXE, the fact that my hand is so tightly and seamlessly covered with skin looks frighteningly unnatural. Same is true for the rest of my body when looking in a mirror though, I find the whole human form to be disconcertingly alien on MXE, like I'm expecting to see something else.

On DXM, the distortions in scale make them look tiny and almost atrophied (not to mention far away)

On Iprocetyl my hands have looked like a stylized bronze cast with an anodized surface covered in complex neon patterns.

the first time i dropped acid my friend (not tripping) held up his hand. i was getting double vision looking at everything; not blurry intoxicated drunk double vision, but defined, morphing, and kaleidoscopic in nature. as this started happening his hands grew many, many other fingers. so many i tried counting them, it must have looked like at least 8-12, maybe even more fingers. but when i added all the numbers up, they equaled 5!! 8o

and the worst part was, it made complete sense that all of those, possibly infinite fingers = 5.
my little sixteen year old mind was completely blown. then everything melted. %)

heh..cool topic; i was just chatting w a friend about this last night..

out of all the psychedelics ive done, i think the coolest most memorable hand-tracer test i recall was i had eaten 2 hits of some orange gel tabs, and topped it off w 25mg of 2c-i. i rememeber waiving my hands in the air to see if the I had kicked in yet, and i saw what was instead of typical heavy tracers, a rainbow of them that left imprints wherever my hands went. my field of vision looked like one of those technicolor shirts from the 80s-90s.

it was almost like a deck of cards effect too, if you know what im sayin..like hundreds of siff colored tracers over lapping each other and lasting for what seemed like almost a minute; i could see where i was holding my hand up after i started to wave it around.

although i dont find 2c-i to be incredibly deep at any means, the visual candy that it provides in higher doses(25-30mg) is bad arse if you can deal w the stimulation. paired w acid, it was like playing w different colored paints...so soo cool =D

the creepiest visuals ive ever seen w my hands was a high DOI/DOC combo dose. the longer i looked at it, or anything else, it looked like i was watching a speeded up version of the aging process. my hand would get old and wrinkled, the skin would get discolored, and it almost looked like the flesh was degrading from the bone. that was a really srtrange dark trip tho. i was staring at a brick wall and i saw algae growing on it, and vines growing out of it, then wilting. the grass and all life around me would just begin to wilt, decay, and grow. the 2 ppl i was tripping w were having the same sort of visuals, ehh, creepy!

On mushrooms my hands look like a childs, or an old mans, and age in between. Sometimes they look tree-like.

On acid my hands go crazy; the tips look like there are eyes on them and then eventually it looks like there is a neon, cyborg pattern on my skins before it turns totally into either black/yellow/cyan/magenta.
