Describe a Bluelighter you have met recently.

Umm, you forgot 'good looking'... ;)

I first met Miss Apple almost exactly a year ago at Transmission in Sydney, quite unexpectedly. For those of you who don't know of her, Miss A was here right back when JohnBoy was just a pup, Bluelight was really 'new' and Big Trancer was some kid we were still deciding whether we'd let into the 'club'... =D <joking>

I'd read a lot of posts from this girl all through 1999 and the following few years, so I knew to expect a forthright, genki (Japanese for 'happy, full of energy'), intelligent and happy woman who had time for absolutely everyone and always seemed to have a HUGE smile on her rosy red cheeked face. And I got exactly that. She was an absolute pleasure. :D

Of all the BL's I've met through the years, Miss A and I share the most common dream: that of finding a love that is equal to their personal, very highly set, mark. I think both of us have missed the boat a few times through circumstance or design and we seem to even be sharing a common problem at the moment: will the friend you have admired for years and years finally see your longing for them, or will they take up with that other person!? (see the 'Singles' thread). I can happily report that my personal situation is nearing completion and is going my way (5 years later). So hang in there baby! =D

My dearest wish for you M, is that whoever he is and whatever the circumstance, that the one that you are meant to be with for all time arrives (or wakes up!) soon, because I don't know of many others who deserve it quite as much as you do. :D

If you ever get to meet Miss Apple, give her a big kiss on the cheek and share a joke, a beer or a smoke: she's a delight.

Okay, firstly a big THANKS to everyone (all 9 of us ;) ) who made it to today's lunch meetup! It was a GREAT afternoon. Lotsa beer and laughs.

My impressions of people I met today?

MoeBro: Any more laid back and he'd be furniture... seriously... the guy with the unpronouncable name was an absolute sweetheart. I have apparently met him before but I couldn't remember ;) Clearly very intelligent, and quite happy to sit back and observe us all as we nattered our drunken heads off. And he was going home this afternoon to STUDY! Big respect for that! :) < a pleasure to meet you, MoeBro.

Blossom: A newbie but a ROCKING bluelight addition =D This girl's maturity completely belies her age.... which I won't reveal for fear of completely shocking everyone. But let's just say she shouldn't have had a beer in her hand ;). Blossom you are very pretty, sweet and a really fun chick to hang out with.

tnargus : (don't ask me how to pronounce that either!) Another relative newie, so I didn't have any preconcieved idea of him, but I have to say: completely adorable. Ladies, snap this one up ;) He's immediately friendly, cute and funny.... tnargus you rock.

smokin' joe : wow, I had no idea what to expect but joe you're a complete dude! He'd just got this kick-arse hairdo, sort of reminiscent of Beckham with heaps of product spiking it up on top, trendy clothes, melting blue eyes and an absolutely non-pretentious, down to earth attitude to boot. Plus he went out of his way to *cough* help me out with stuff today - completely beyond the call of duty for a stranger - so he has top marks in my book. I'm sure I'll be seeing more of you, and your Bionic Man flatmate!

Starfalls69: Well I've met this honey several times before and my feelings about her are well known I'm sure :D Looking stunning again with cleavage to die for, Kel, my naughty little semi-goth chick... fast becoming a very, very good friend.

harasser : Starfall's other half! Before Kell showed me a pic of harrasser I completely expected some corporate IT dude, maybe 27-30 years old. Haha... man, I couldn't be more wrong, but in the nicest possible way! Harrasser reminds me of the type of guys I used to go for in high school... shoulder length blond hair, cute face, pub rock look. But with one exception - he's actually NOT an asshole! In fact, a quiet and sweet person without a shred of attitude. Liked him a lot.

laredo : another newbie, the others met him today but I've known him for 3 years... he's my boyfriend. So I decline to comment on the basis of being biased. <3

RustyBickie : one of the first to arrive, and one of the guys my boyfriend and I talked most to all day. Anyone who loves Jamie Oliver is a-ok in our book... this guy is a gem. Nice smile, great sense of humour and an appreciation of all of life's finer things... what more could you want really?

So that was us, plus me. Couldn't have asked for a better bunch of people to have a southbank experience with =D

Yeah, I SO agree with all of that...I think it is the name...I was fully expecting some gangsta dO0d, and he's totally the opposite. Not much else that dq hasn't covered...except throw in really funny and open and friendly. :)

On a similar note, isn't it kind of funny how we have preconceived ideas in our head of what someone's gonna look or be like before we've actually met them, and then that gets totally blown out of the water when we come face to face? I experienced that with a few people I've met from here...

okay, well since you asked.....

I have a friend back in Melbourne who has the same first name as chaos butterfly, and he's a bit of a goth/punk kid....tattooed scalp, piercings, etc...so I associated that image with cb, which is SO not remotely what he looks like. I think I also thought he'd be more cynical, dark etc....but he is a great guy, and like everyone else I met, really friendly and funny. And let's throw in cute and very switched on to it while I'm at it. :)

Cosmic Mist's avatar looks kinda like a character in my comic, and I based that character on someone I used to go to school with, so that's who I associated her with. When I actually met her it was a huge surprise because I had no idea she'd be there. Was very happy. :)

Awesome. I totally understand though hey!

Its the whole thing, of knowing someone with a certain name, and if you like that person, generally, you dont not like the name. But, if you hold a total animosity towards someone, you basically would never consider naming your child that name because you associate it with animosity feelings.

Avatars i reckon, can really make or break a person online though. I cant resize mine here so i cbf figuring it out, but, on o0ther forums i use the "boo" (from monsters inc) avatar, and ive had people say it really suits my personality. hehe... bizaare hey?

It was really great meeting you as well, you are a very kind and interesting and friendly and open chap! Who wouldn't like you?? I kinda knew beforehand that I'd think you were a champ! I really hope we spend alot of time together here in Sydney now that you are a NSW BLer!

I hope you had fun with us on Saturday night/yesterday morning and sorry if I was tripping too hard and making a fool of myself hahahahaha

As far as recent people I met, Raz was pretty much exactly how I expected him to be, except a little quieter due to lack of sleep and the like, but hey it was all good ;)

Aaah I can't really remember names of people now... I still need more sleep, but in the end I must say that the Sydney meetup which spawned most of these recent posts was awesome and we should all do it again sometime... The Bank Hotel is a fantastic pub with fantastic cocktails and is a great place to meet :)

i have to say a big thanx to the 3 awsome bluelighters (nursey, robertrollie and proto) i met randomly at godskitchen in birmigham england on friday night.. we met them in the line to get in, and were all really excited about seeing ferry corsten play.. my mate and i had thought the club finished at 7 so booked our return coach to london for 9. we then found out it finishes at 4:00 and were worried we would have to sit out in the cold for 5 hours.. thankfully these blulighters offered us a warm place to hang out and chill for the morning!! lol they also taught me how to snort. though i really don't know if thats a good thing lol.

i met Strawberry Love Muffin and her b/f the other day on New Years. ranted away quite nicely. i have a habit of talkin peoples ears off sometimes.

also exchanged a few munted words with 1234 at Summadayze. the emphasis being on the munted.

I met maniia for the first time at Global, and then we caught up again at Sunshine People.
I was pretty (read "very") scatterbrained both times :\
In the short time we've spent together i've found maniia to be an amazingly friendly person. Happy to meet my friends, introduce me to her hers, or even invite me back to chill out with them after sunshine, which i unfortunately couldnt do. Her relaxed, fun nature is contagious. I'm looking forward to meeting up again... hopefully when i can string a bit more of a sentence together rather than just looking monged out 8)

Is a sweety. Very chatty when most of us were dead silent at the begining of the rave, which was refreshing. Also givs good hugs.

hmmm what can i say... this boy is just energetic!! his optimism is just amazing and seems contageous to all of the ppl around him. Its actually a shame that i have been so fuked when ever we meet because we havnt really had much of a chat in person.

edit: hmmm i try not to make expectations of ppl, just sortof take it as it comes. Killing_time was very similar to how he posts here (very energetic) and so is maniia (funny). In person killing_time was a shit load taller than i expected. Nothing about the bluelighters i have met recently have shocked me tho. oh yeah maniia has a cool tat and yes'm is hot =D (hehehe hope i havnt made that boys head swell.)

c'mon guys, describe these people :) What did you expect? How were your expectations exceeded? How were your preconceptions blown away? Were they exactly as you expected? Don’t just say their name and that they were cool.
 
CHILD-OF-THE-BEAT Oh my god, this chik is awsome! Myself and Buzinallnightlong, meet up with her one friday night after she finished work. She is a chirpy, friendly chik, who has a HUGE bright smile on her face all the time. Im really glad I meet her, becuase she is really good person to talk too, about anything, she helps you out when your in trouble and I cant wait to party with her. She loves kandy, and is a very caring person. Thank-you chik for being so wonderful!!

JOLLERCOASTER Oh wow, I meet up with Jollercoaster just recently at avent*jah @ Kryal castle, we talked and rocked with each other, he is a really good talker and gives great hugs and just a all round great person, very easily to get along with, and thanks for the kandy you gave me at Belfast!! You rock!!

MOEBRO Is very quiet in person, but is easy to talk to. Very smart young lad and is willing to listen to anything you say. I cant wait to meet up with you again Moe I really enojoed your company!

Tomo Oh he is a nut case!! Serious no body meet him!!!! Hahaha nah he is champ, always sending me little text's about whats going on in melbs. I meet him at Nrg-6 in july, gives great hugs, easy to talk to, wicked little dancer and always a very nice guy. Very smart young lad, and is very artistic, he loves the same music as me, which makes him a champ. Very much a party goer and never sleeps much!! Hahaha

Ive meet other bl'ers but I just dont know there names on here.. Sorry!!
