Oh Christ! ( no pun intended)...My teeth are killing me all the time..Winter was a bleeding nightmare...My Mdone didnt help with the pain nothing did...I was punching myself in the face at 3 and 4am going insane with the pain...I couldnt find anyoine who gave a fuck...It was terrible...Dont know what happend but they have calmed down now, maybe the weather????

I know this pain too well, one of the worst pains I've ever felt is this.
Punching your own teeth for the 0.5s of releife, punching and punching.

I got that bitch of a tooth removed, had an infection, a bad one.

What about private dexamphetamine scripts? Do they show up in the list?

In the past when the psych gave me a private dexamphetamine script before, the psych didn't call call anyone.

But when the same psych gave me a dexamphetamine authority script, the psych rang someone before writing on the authority script.

Was the psych dodgy for not ringing ragarding the private script? I don't shop and I'm legit. I don't want to get in trouble for someone's mistake. Bit worried.

^ No, they are not required to verify you aren't a doctor shopper. The second time when they made a call, it was because that particular authority is not streamlined and must be obtained by calling up Medicare directly and getting a phone approval number. That was not to check you weren't doctor shopping either.

You are fine, if you don't doctor shop you don't even have to be worried if they do a check. For some doctors it's standard procedure before prescribing these drugs. :)

Unfortunately, australia is a POLCE-State, almost
bordering on line with Nazi Germany, it is f++king
disgusting. It should be no doctors buisness what
other doctors have prescribed me in the past, and
personally, they can go to hell, i don't understand
this system however, or even how it works, but i
know that i've been prescribed dexamphetamine and
thats about the only drug i've been prescribed where
the doctor rings the government, up until a week ago
when i was prescribed xanax, and this confused me,
since i thought xanax was only S4, whereas the doctor
only has to ask for permission if it's S8. So now if i go
to another doctor for xanax, he'll need to ring the govt
and when he does so, i'll get a rejection order??? Sick!

^ Did you get the dexamphetamine and xanax as an authority script? If so, the call was to get the authority and not to check up on you. For certain drugs (not just abusable ones, but also expensive, dangerous or limited use substances) that are covered under the PBS, the doctor can't just have it subsidized with an authority code from the computer and instead has to call up Medicare, get a phone approval number and tell them that you fit the criteria for getting it at a subsidized cost.

In some states they have to get permission before prescribing S8 drugs for a prolonged period of time (which is defined in that state's prescribing codes), but they definitely aren't required to get permission before prescribing them or even to check your doctor shopping status. They don't even have to make the authority call to Medicare if they write it as a private script.

Also, the doctor shopping system exists for a reason; partially it is there to protect doctors from claims that they were overzealous with the script pad if the issue ever arises. Remember, not just you but the doctors who write these prescriptions are watched and the authorities want to make sure they aren't overwriting prescriptions for drugs that are considered dangerous.

How come the psych didn't call for a phone approval for the private dexamphetamine script? Psych doesn't need approval for private script? Does that mean the private dexamphetamine script won't show up under my name but the authority script will?

I'm now using authority script for dexamphetamine regularly by the way. In the past, the psych used a private script a couple of times.

Completely aside from the doc shopping issue, it's important because certain medications are contraindicated with others, and if your doc doesn't know what you're already on, they might precribe you something that will be dangerous when used in combo with other medications/health problems. I know this isn't what they're checking for when they check the doctor shopping list, and it's probably a more important issue than worrying about someone getting an extra xanax script. Just mentioning that there are valid reasons why there's a benefit to sticking to one doc.

Oh i agree, i'm sorry for my rant, what you both say is very true.
It's just the prospect of say, wanting an extra-sleeping tablet
cause i've run out of tamazepam, but then i have xanax, so the
govt will refuse permission. Believe it or not i actually got the xanax
while i was on methadone so i guess it's not that bad, i thought i'd
be unable to for sure actually, but thankgod they don't blacklist you
for benzo's when you are on methadone(i know they do for opiates).

Your right about doctors protecting there own asses of course, to be
honest i have no knowledge of how the the pbs or pharmaceuticall
beaurocracy really works in australia, i just hope that if i go and get
a xanax script from another doctor, even when i have 20 xanax tablets
left from my other script, i won't be rejected, but it doesn't sound like i
will from what you are saying? And your right also about private scripts,
i had one written for codeine once, because he wanted to tamper me
off paracetamol/ibuprofen and give me the more "pure" and safe product.

Doctor Shopping Laws - Western Australia -

Greet's all.

I'm interested to know how this whole ' doctor shopping ' scheme
implemented by our government, both federal and state, works, as
i myself see quite a few docs at times. The thought of going
to see a doc for a valium script, and to have him ring the govt' only
to find out that i got such a script two weeks ago terrifies me, but is
it possible? From what i understand, doctors can only find out what
you have been prescribed if you are listed as a "doctor shopper" which
only seems to happen when your submitted as a suspicious customer?

Is that correct? And if so, how long are you on the list? Do you ever
come off of it? And if the doctor writes a private script, then can you
bypass that, even if you are on the list? I Am really unfamiliar with it.

Cheers guys.
- Peace -

Private scripts aren't traced by the PBS/Medicare and those fuckwads at the HIC...

Point is bro, your doctor(s) I presume, will only give a fuck if you come in there office, demanding shit to take...

not wise bro, the government will eventually ruin your hopes and expectations of ever getting along hassle free with up to 5 doctors who prescribe you benzodiazepines...

This thread will be closed in a matter of minutes, hours maybe...

3 months.
Yes you do come of the Doc Shopper list, after 3 months and sticking with one doctor.
Yes, you can and will bypass that shit.

I've heard this 3 months mentioned a fair bit. How do you know it's that length of time?

I've merged your new thread into the existing Dr Shopping thread, DoctorChemX. I can see you've posted in this previous thread too - since all your questions were answered here, a new thread isn't warranted.

does anyone know if dr's in hospitals are included in the dr shopper scheme. I've been prescribed endone by hospital dr, endone by my gp, and crappy tramadol by some gp that was easier for me to get to because i was in pain. This is in the last 4 days. I"M not really a dr shopper but am i officially one now?

that would suck if I am.

Your probably right. But if they do, i'll just smoke
cannabis instead. Pity though. Fucking rotten cunts.
