Dentist accused of trying to spread HIV was once AIDS activist
A DENTIST who boasted about having sex with animals has been busted for sharing child porn and trying to spread HIV, according to the FBI.
John Wallace Wolf, 59, has been charged with conspiracy to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and possession and distribution of child porn.
He is also accused of engaging in rampant sex parties with animals in Brooklyn and Manhattan, including a dog on one occasion, according to federal law enforcement sources.
Wolf came to the attention of the FBI after a meth dealer arrested last March said Wolf bought large quantities from him and provided free dental work in return, court papers revealed.
The dealer-turned-informant said he witnessed Wolf using drugs at his Manhattan clinic and said the dentist showed him pictures on his mobile phone of adults sexually abusing young children, according to a complaint filed by FBI special agent Aaron Spivack.
An undercover agent posing as a paedophile met with Wolf in his office and said Wolf played disgusting child porn videos for him.
“Wolf stated that he gets particularly ‘excited’ by specific child pornography videos and described a video depicting an eight-year-old ‘retarded’ girl engaged in sex,” the complaint alleged.
Wolf allegedly transferred 23 video files to a USB stick and gave it to the undercover agent, saying there are sex parties in the basement of the building and suggesting they could sexually abuse children together.
The agent also claimed that Wolf said he was HIV-positive and “at times punctured holes in condoms in an intentional attempt to spread the HIV virus to his sexual partners.”
A notice of Wolf’s arrest has been posted on Yelp, asking anyone who may have been victimised to call the FBI.
Since his arrest, it has been revealed Wolf was a leading expert on dental practices and AIDS patients, even lecturing on the disease at New York University’s Dental School and at three national American Dental Association conventions.
“My mother has sat in my chair right after I treated an AIDS patient,” Wolf told The New York Post in January 1988.
That year, Wolf took Dr Lawerence Barton — another Manhattan dentist who sublet office space to Wolf — to court, claiming he had terminated his lease because he was treating people with HIV.
It was the first AIDS discrimination case in New York City history to ever go to public hearing.
Wolf, a former member of the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, claimed that Barton had approached him in 1985 after receiving a call from an AIDS patient and insisted that he stop seeing people who were HIV positive.
Barton later denied these allegations and called the case a “blackmail situation,” claiming he had previously treated AIDS patients himself. Despite this, he was eventually fined $US15,000 for terminating the lease.
“I hope this will give AIDS patients, dentists and doctors hope that the system is backing them and they don’t have to turn away an AIDS patient or have to move,” Wolf said at the time.
